That merge with FSA will benefit our players ? I really don't know what is going to happen, the club don't give us too much information, will our players have the chance to compete for a spot on their top teams (ECNL/NPL) ? does anybody have any information about this ? my kid is not a top player, but he is a hard worker and is getting better every year.

Top players can break in. Not top players can't. A child has a chance anywhere they tryout. To break into a top roster, they have to really shine.

What's funny and I can't comprehend is the fact that both stars and nefc are sharing the roots facility at same times for try outs. This will go over well.

ECNL and NPL teams are formed at ulittles, per the Connecticut forum, so there is a slim to no chance of breaking into one apparently. Probably nothing more than a desperate marketing attempt to make WUP appear decent to keep them afloat. Right now they are a sinking ship.

Since RL is in charge of scheduling Roots this is no accident. SW will have tryouts, sign their kids and then tell the parents they are out of business and go in with NEFC W. Shady!!

I am not suggesting anything. First of all, no one knows what is happening. Previous poster referred to contracts. At the end of the season, the contract is up. That's all I am saying.

The kids are still playing so no announcement. Also, if they announce they are going with NEFC RL can not coach any teams he currently does. Parents are loyal if they find out he is not coaching them they will most certainly look at other clubs.

His kids will come to tryouts thinking they are for SW and RL. They will not look at other options. The next week they will get an announcement saying SW have folded and RL is with NEFC West and they will create stand alone teams for them under the NEFC W banner.

I agree, I signed my child up to tryout for both clubs. Whatever club they are affiliated with really doesn't matter to me as long as it is the same training, preferably with the same coach and players.
