ALL the other 5 clubs have not combined their top talant to form a true elite team from different regions at this age. Your D team may feel like the trump now but you soon will have one of those "where did they come from" friendly game and ponder.

SW 02 & 03 npl teams are special. I applaud them for sticking together.

Thanks for the enlightenment, exactly why I stated it's a little early. I don't measure success at this age by wins, rankings and margin of victory. I see some good technical players being developed who happen to win some games. To your point, in the long run I doubt western mass will have the depth to keep up.

As a Chicago native that cuts to the core, but I know it's true.

Seems like this is more so WUP can say top players have an ECNL pathway. They don't have ECNL or DA (and probably never will) so they're trying to stay relevant. Better players would probably already try FSA if it was commutable for them, so I don't see what FSA gets out of the arrangement.

So two entire teams are going to Oakwood? Are they expecting to unseat current Oakwood players for DA or are they going over as NPL team?

If you think two entire teams of western mass girls are going to drive to gbury 3-4x a week, take 100% of roster spots and give up high school soccer your are nuts. A handful maybe, maybe. Just because a coach can do this and wants his team to follow doesn't mean it will happen

It happens all the time with the older teams. How do you think Stars West got it start?

I agree. The strong handful will probably do this in hopes of greater soccer or recognition. The rest will remain put. However this will dismantle the NPL stars west teams.

Reading the CT board it seems OW has locked in most of their current NPL players into GDA picking up very little outside talent. So take that for what it's worth right there in terms the overall quality of GDA. But they are trying to keep NPL teams running and will be desperate to fill rosters. With FSA and CFC having ECNL and NPL teams there's very little appeal to go to OW for NPL within CT, and very little incentive for WesternMA players to do it either.
