Big Guy!
Is a criminal!! PVJSL has been corrupt for long time!!
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostHow was it mismanaged? Serious, obviously you never tried working with the big guy! Until this past fall he was completely inflexible. Wouldn't reschedule games, no place to dispute cards or suspensions, lack of communication regarding ref fees and simply rude when a legitimate question was asked. Its funny now to see how much he changed in a short amount of time.... competition is good, but only one league will survive over time.

Have you met Lou at pvjsl??? You clearly have no clue unless you are part of that soccer board. Talk about a board who only cares about $$$. Pvjsl doesn't give a damn about players playing premier and still wanting to play for their town. Pvjsl would NEVER work around sat/sun schedule therefore towns were dropping in the spring due to losing players who played premier. Roots may not be the solution but at least they are encouraging premier players to play as well.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostExactly HOW was pvjsl mismanaged? They may have their imperfections but from what I see, doing a far better job than Roots run by the one and only RL. They can't even sort out their scheduling and standings online and they seem very unorganized from the feedback I've got from others. Is there really a need for two leagues in this small region? That right there is the problem, just a huge influx of soccer businesses and the supply and demand is just not there so you end up with a hugely diluted soccer teams and clubs. Premier is just that- premier. All these clubs need to knock it off with their money grubbing B and C teams. If a kid doesn't make a premier team, they should play travel. There shouldn't be more than one travel league per region, especially one as small as western Massachusetts. It's just a big problem with no end in sight and only going to get worse. I bet FC Boston and NEFC reading this thread and thinking they should come rescue all those poor kids playing for WUP and stars and thus further diluting things.

Ask the Registrar from any town in PVJSl, and they will provide a whole list of issues dealing with Lou.
There were a couple minor hickups with Roots Soccer League(RSL) first season, which was expected. Mostly, it seemed, with trying to schedule all the games over a short fall season with the cold weather setting in. All regular season and playoff games were still held. As the Towns now have an actual voting voice, and DB is willing to work with them, it is 1000 times better then PVJSL was, strictly from an administrative side. Having one Saturday game a week and three practices was great from a player development perspective, but some parents miss the two games and two practices per week. The level of competition has not changed at all, and my child's team plays in the A division. Having line judges to help out the Ref was great too, though I believe having just one would have been fine and might have reduced the cost. Even with having 3 officials per game, our Town found they spent less per child, then when we were with PVJSL. We were expecting it to cost slightly more, so this was a pleasant surprise. So far we are happy with the RSL and are glad we made the switch.

Pretty accurate although on the girls side I would put Mutiny #4 ahead of Berkshire IFC and PV Storm. And on the boys side I would put Mutiny in the #3 spot instead of WUP B team.
GPS and CFC sportworld very good options in the area. GPS dealing with growing pains but making progress and CFC is a hidden gem right on the state line that many people don't even know about. They have great coaches and teams that play in NEP
