Taking a company van and allowing your spouse to drive drunk. Getting a DUI in said van. You would be fired the very next day
Try yelling at one of your coworkers because they didn't do well on a PowerPoint ... You would be suspended
She was on a performance improvement plan (pip) at her workplace. She didn't live up to the plan and was terminated.
She's gotten away with bad and illegal behavior for 17 years. She has be enabled because she's a great athlete.
This has nothing to do with her sex and everything to do with awful behavior.
1. She wasn't driving drunk. Did she steal the van? Did the company charge her? What happened to Michael Phelps when he was caught drunk? Do we really need to call out all the celebrities and athletes who have been caught and charged with DUI....and then either are found guilty or get away with it....but still keep their jobs?
2. Michael Vick went to jail and then got his job back. I would take Hope Solo's behavior over Vicks anytime.
3. Really?? You think someone should get suspended over being yelled about surrounding a powerpoint issue?? I do that at work and get promoted.
This has to be with both her sex and behavior....but she is certainly not treated the same as a man would be.....perhaps it has to do with the fact that she is ONLY A SOCCER PLAYER!!
It is only here in this country that an entire thread would be devoted to Hope Solo. If they want to fire her then fine. Move on. She has every right to be vocal about Brazil and their infectious risks and can call the swedes whatever she wants.
Should Kaepernick be fired for disrespecting the flag and the anthem. Personally, I would fire him. His issues have nothing to do with a song and a piece of cloth that were made under completely different circumstances and have very wholesome and truthful meanings that represent opportunity, freedom, and survival. Nevertheless, he is staying put.

They haven't said she's out for good. Her contract is terminated for now. She is suspended for now. Show a little remorse and go on an apology tour maybe they'll let her back in.

And for what it's worth Michael Phelps, another Olympian representing our country, went to rehab and got his sh** together. But getting his spot back didn't happen overnight. He had to prove himself. Maybe this will be a wakeup call for her to also get her sh** together.

2. Yes, he was punished. So is she. She can apply to get her job back too.
3. Yes, absolutely. I don't want people who work for me to act like idiots. I expect them to act professional.

Key was a slave owner who said Africans were an obvious inferior race. Verse three of the anthem advocates killing slaves who fought for the British on promise of becoming free.
"No refuge could save the hireling or slave . . .
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave . . .
And the star spangled banner in triumph doth wave . . .
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave."
That will warm the cackles of every KKK members heart.

Making this even more interesting is the fact that “The Star-Spangled Banner” — which borrowed its difficult melody from a “To Anacreon in Heaven,” a British song about boozing and womanizing — wasn’t adopted as the official national anthem of the U.S. until 1931....Let’s face it. Playing the national anthem before a sports event is a grand old tradition. But for many fans, so is dissing the song. And most people — at least those who don’t write sports columns for a living — don’t seem to care how other fans react to the tune.

My reading indicates rather than advocating, he is just commenting that slaves, along with the hireling (mercenaries) were simply killed during the battle.
Big, big difference.

Wait, are you now saying Hope Solo wants to kill slaves? Doesn't stand for the Anthem?
I'm lost
