    U12 dap

Now that people have signed contracts for U12 DAP, can someone comment on the limitations, if any, regarding participation in sporting activities outside of DAP, especially soccer related. Are players allowed to attend clinics, camps, private lessons, etc. provided by clubs other than their own DAP club while in season (or summer only)?

Also, just wondering if people feel the competition in this new DAP league will be stronger/similar/weaker than it was last year for those clubs which played in the U12 pre-academy (NEPAL) league. Travel this year will definitely be reduced from NEPAL, which is great, but will the competition suffer?

Probably about the same. A few elite players scattered around, but mostly above average players.

Contact your club, even better your coach. Even if others are allowed it won't mean your kids' coach will allow missed events.

I was actually wondering about allowing additional training outside of the DAP program, rather than missing training or games due to conflicts (I'm pretty sure that won't be acceptable).

COntact your coach. Some clubs are very sensitive about that kind of stuff. I don't know about the younger ages but it's definitely not allowed for 14+

If you want to take information posted on TS as gospel you're welcome to. Personally I'd prefer information infused with actual facts from a club, coach or the DA website.

              Not the OP

No kidding. Come to an anonymous trashfest and complain about the answer...

                  I disagree.
I for one would love to hear how your conversation with coach goes when you say "Yeah, but someone on TS said ..."

Especially for something pretty important like that. Imagine listening to TS posters then finding out too late it's against the rules.

My kids is u11 this year . We have sent several e-mail to our DOC and no response asking about cost and training .
I am going to assume that no one on TS has a kid playing u12 since they can't answer a simple question or give general information under "anonymous" .
                      Thank you TS community!

OP here. Not my post above, but we are in a similar situation with a U11 player. Don't exactly want to be advertising to our club that he does camps and clinics for additional training at other clubs. I feel our kid gets a lot out of training with different coaches, kids, summer leagues & pick-up with older kids, and would hate to have this limited next year. Just wondering if limitations are actually written into the DAP contracts (I would think expectations like this would be clearly spelled out, with required signature). DAP program website has little info on the finer details of the program, so I was hoping someone involved in the program could give some insight.

You are the problem with club soccer. No coach is telling me what I can and can't do with my 12 year old. If he doesn't like what I'm doing he can nut up and come talk to me about it. If he's full of chit I'm going to make it abundantly clear to him that I think he's full of chit. My kid is 12. He better be holding a guaranteed D1 contract in his hand if he plans to hold something over my head. Never lose sleep about little kid soccer.
