According to one poster, Nobles has two going to Dartmouth. Who besides MR?

Look for ST Georges to compete. I heard they have a real overhaul in players this year. Many new recruits.

Does anyone know which teams lost a lot of seniors, vs which teams kept a lot of players? I know nobles and BH have many returners but I'm not sure on other schools.

Originally posted by Unregisteredthe only commits at this point are early commits. This does not mean much. Many players who are just as good don't commit early.

How does a college make an early commitment? What if the student needs a lot of financial aid/grants?

First serious step in the verbal commitment process is usually a request to see academic transcripts and test scores to determine if the recruit a) can be admitted, and b) qualifies for any academic scholarship. If a recruit qualifies for academic money, then athletic money is often added to the package to get the total offer up to a certain percentage of tuition, room and board. At that point a coach will ask for or a recruit will offer their verbal commitment.
Need-based financial aid awarded is deducted from any athletic money offered if the recruit applies for need-based financial aid and is awarded such during the application process.
D3 schools do not offer athletic money per NCAA regulations. There is no such thing as signing a NLI if a recruit is going to a D3 school. Likewise, a D1 or D2 recruit who does not sign an NLI is not receiving any athletic money.
Nothing becomes official regarding awarding athletic scholarship money until the NLI is signed.
