She posted advice to Revs staff after the first practice.

Does that work? I do see certain parents swarming the coach.

At the academy level they are not trying to win championships, or have the best performing 'team' in any way. The goal is to develop players who the staff believes have the capability to play at the professional level. This generally means that a small handful of the players at each age group get the attention and the opportunities.
well based on the goal, the revs/bolts do a very poor job. Actually they have Failed
academy goal does not equal the player/parent goal

Favorites already chosen, quite foolishly, I might add
It's possible your kid may not be as strong as you hoped they would be compared to the better competition at this level. Sometimes using connections to get your kid into something they may not have deserved based on their own merit is doing them a disservice. Now they are out playing time for an entire season, with less training than they might have had at their previous club.

Highly possible, but certainly not less training verse other clubs. It's three days a week. Most clubs are twice a week.

Remember, you are no longer a paying customer. They will play your son when and where they see fit. If that is not what you expected you shouldn't have signed on.

You ignored the fact that with DA it's supposed to be four x/week

It might work at some clubs. Revs coaches don't seem to like it at all

Right- DA is not club. It's too bad but saves us all a trip.

He might have been expecting 4 practices. The rosters are not as big as I would have thought, but other academies have fewer players listed on theirs. That could be for reasons other than actually wanting a smaller roster.

If anything MLS teams have an incentive to keep rosters smaller - while their facility and coaching fees are a sunk cost, travel and other costs are variable by # of players. non MLS clubs have an incentive for big rosters - more paying customer!

Every academy team can and will take 18 players/ game. There are more than that on the Revs rosters right now because they are going to have to earn a spot on the 18 for games. Bolts bring up players from NPL teams to fill out their rosters.

Revs U18 have technically a small roster as U16 players routinely play up and then U14 play up as well to U16. Domino effect. Works great for players playing up to get better competition. Playing time is earned.

If you don't like the 3 times a week and think it should be 4 then leave. Some of you haters would not be happy if they DAP team won the age group across the board and had home grown players signed every year. Plenty of soccer out there. Simply go to what best suits your child (not you).
