At the academy level they are not trying to win championships, or have the best performing 'team' in any way. The goal is to develop players who the staff believes have the capability to play at the professional level. This generally means that a small handful of the players at each age group get the attention and the opportunities.
academy goal does not equal the player/parent goal

Now they are out playing time for an entire season, with less training than they might have had at their previous club.

If you don't like the 3 times a week and think it should be 4 then leave. Some of you haters would not be happy if they DAP team won the age group across the board and had home grown players signed every year. Plenty of soccer out there. Simply go to what best suits your child (not you).
