Serious question. Is there a big difference between Bolts and Revs DAP? Driving to Gilette several times a week will be brutal.

You should consider a backup plan as you might be in for a surprise. Maybe one of the NPL teams such NEFC, Stars or GPS?

Only difference is the $ you pay.

What about Seacoast? That was the original plan anyway. Not that far really.

            Seacoast is way too far.

NEFC is your best option. Plenty of openings. NPL is ok.

Revs playing the Bolts this weekend, you'll see the difference then.

Stars are not a bad option either for non-DAP players. Good coaching and NPL also.

                      Good town-team-level coaching. But NPL.

                        levels of play.....for boys

DAP is the top level of play without question. Even if the Bolts are weaker than the Revs, the level of competition is higher than any other league and the coaching is college level. That said, you have to be playing. Riding the bench for a DAP team should alert you to the fact that division 1 soccer is not in your future and, with that in mind, you would be better off getting on to a next level team and getting play time.

EDP with Valeo vs NPL with Stars, NEFC, GPS, or Bolts? Valeo has a strong training path but often loses its players to other clubs from U15 and older. The EDP entry was supposed to help but it isn't very clear that it has. GPS NPL is the next place to look as they seem to have a better exposure and offer a chance at playing on a 'national' team. After that, NEFC and Stars might be a coin toss. Both good, but really need to assess the coaching, tournament selection, and playtime.

The Bolts NPL might be a joke or, at best, variable from year to year. The Bolts continue to show that the NPL is their third tier team and a non-consideration. This is really a shame but instead of concentrating players to form a full roster, they have spread their wings more to form more teams and collect more dollars for the sole purpose of.....funding the DAP players better.

Don't waste your money with NEP teams. If you are at that level......go to a MAPLE team.

The Blazers are the dark horses (no pun intended). Okaroh, although a little crazy, is still one of the best coaches and trainers in the Baystate.

That seems like sound advice. If that player from Valeo or anywhere doesn't have necessary skill set to play DAP, it does seem like the best option to go with one of the better local NPL teams. As a parent, you should also consider the travel involved. Why bother travelling to New York or New Jersey all the time for away games when you can play locally?

Most NPL teams are in MA, most EDP teams are in NY/NJ.

6-0 last game. No doubt Revs is the highest level in NE.
