The only out is if he's right in this regard: FCB gets GDAP because of its existing BDAP.
And if GDAP is a success, in a few short years, ECNL folds...or relegated to a distant second tier league. But if you look at the big picture, FCB fees are a lot less than NEFC or Stars, about $1,000 less. So 1M per year in revenue could have provided a cushion and budget for higher level management and consulting staff. David vs. Goliath dilemma.

And who knows, maybe that will turn our to be true. After all, Bolts have one of the original DAP franchises and are still the most famous club in Massachusetts nationally.

Wow Fred, have you no shame? How do you know what NEFC's fee structure is going to be? You are just lying here to save your pathetic club. What happens if they decide to give the DAP away for free how are you going to be $1,000 cheaper?

The more likely scenario is USSF strips the Bolts of their DAP franchise and gives it to NEFC then orchestrates a similar merger between the Revs and the Stars and then gives the Stars the second GDAP franchise. That way both pro clubs have both academies and monopolies to sustain them.

Let's start with zero chance of Bolts losing DAP. Keep wishing.

The Bolts are in dire straights. That's why they wanted to cut ties with the Breakers. They didn't have the money to pay the $100K after paying Fred for the Scorpions. They thought that they were getting the Scorpions free without Fred and would scoop up the money on the ECNL side. Huge miscalculation. Instead they got Fred and his floundering club and are now are losing the ECNL. USSF knows that the Bolts now are another faded glory. They are not going to keep them in the game just for old times sake.

You make a good argument for USSF to NOT put all the eggs in one basket. Nepotism is a big part of the problem and creating monopolies - may be even worse.

On the other hand how do the best players rise if they don't have supporting cast.

In the end I comes down to will a big club promote the best players to GDA regardless of connections and abide by USSF GDA charter whatever that is.

You sure are good at amusing yourself, BTNT. Bet the girls are even more proud of Dad now.

No one knows what each clubs future fees are going to be, just going by this current years rates. As previously posted, GDAP won't be coming around until 2017, so that is irrelevant for now. If the players do end up getting to play DAP for free, it will have to be subsidized by others elsewhere.

lol DAP will not be free. There will be no change is cost for DAP - willing to bet team cost actually goes up to cover more practice time and year round training.

Why lol? If its pay to play, then yeah, the added training & coach's travel costs should certainly increase the fee for the player. But clubs can structure it in other ways. The player fee for lower level teams could increase to cover the DAP expenses to make DAP free.

Unless there is a sponsor coming in from the clouds it will be play to play. Nowhere have I read anything to suggest different. Boys DAP is pay to play with the exception of the teams sponsored by successful MLS teams (FYI - the pro women are in no shape to sponsor anything).

Clubs will not be giving away their time and it isn't a good business model for the the lower teams to sponsor the expenses of the top team (some will argue that already happens to an extent - this will not get expanded).

How do you know what NEFC or any other club is going to do with their club fee, do you sit on multiple club's boards? Just saying, you seem to be putting an awful lot of effort into things you have no direct insight into.
