Just ask the people who are complaining in Florida about team costs that are under $1000. Most are much less than that. The difference between the northern states and the southern states is amazing. Post your cost on the Fl board and see the response.

Cost is relative to what you get for your money. Just because something costs more, doesn’t always make it a good value.

Not just cost, but is it a good fit for the player?

For Perspective - in North Carolina - Major club - GYS Soccer - U18 Premier

                  $1300 fees+ $225 uniform
5 Tourneys - (CASL Shootout, Triangle Friendlies, VCCL Showcase, Jacksonville 11v11, Tampa Sun)
                  Pro Coach (Div 1, Asst)
3-1.5hr practices a week (club mandate for premier) on Turf
                  Spring 9 game Season

Then end of season party, coaches gift, team mom gift, club fundraiser, travel costs ....

probably not much diff than MA - other than we can drive to all tournaments.

You should speak with the DOC or move to MPS

This should be the norm. 3 training sessions a week and 9-10 games.

In MA were are into the mindset of 2 training sessions and 7 game Spring season. Just not enough.

It comes from the double roster U10-U14 where they train once with town, twice with premier and then two games on the weekend. This is all messed up too.

Thats right, and pretty soon all that will be left at the top clubs will be the big money dogs and of course afew scholarship players everybody in between is getting squeezed out.

What are you talking about? If there are so many people that can't afford the big dogs then there is a market for the little dogs.

If what you expect is more service for less money then that may or may not be possible. For example, it is unreasonable to expect to have 50% more practices for the same amount of money.

If what you're talking about is that the little dogs may not be as prestigious or get into the same tournaments or leagues or whatever - that is possible - but theoretically that's not what you care about, right? You don't care about that stuff and just want your kid to have a place to play. Just don't expect everyone else to have the same priorities.

There are 100 clubs listed within Maple alone. Not all are in it for the money (and there are many good ones). The larger clubs have a business plan and cater to a select clientele who want what they have to offer, and there is nothing wrong with that. As long as there is a market, someone will be there to provide the product, small, medium or large. I don’t see a shortage of opportunities out there.

What an arrogant snob, probably another trust fund baby who never worked a real job in there lives. Or should Isay one that daddy didnt get for them. Too bad that in every other country soccer is the game of all the people not just the privilaged few. No wonder our national team is so weak.
