Boys & Girls ECNL/DA - Can't play nice in the sandbox

Also not the OP - I believe some big name clubs will be involved with GDA as will big name clubs with BECNL. It's good for consumers to have choices, but the net impact will be a watering down of both leagues. Both sides bear responsibility for the upcoming mess

1) ECNL not responding to its criticisms of inconsistent quality and not relegating poor performers, lack of unified coaching standards, etc. But I also don't blame them b striking back with a boys program - it's a business, survival of the fittest and all that

2) USSF wanting to re-create ECNL with GDA which would have similar issues in terms of being too big and not necessarily beneficial for the top players. Their lack of success on the men's side, along with their lack of support for the WMNT doesn't win them any fans or credibility either.

Because USSF didn't want to do one for the girls - as recently as Oct 2014 they still didn't want to do a girls program.

lol exactly! There's even been some speculation that GDA is an attempt to prove USSF is "all about female soccer development" regarding the suit. :)
