Deep trouble ? I wouldn't say that.

Fuller is well coached. While they do not have the talent level of Scorpions, this particular Scorpions team has been known to play down to their competition. And Fuller has beaten Scorps in the not too distant past. If I had to predict, I would say Stars go through easily and Scorps end up second but Fuller or even Inter slipping in as the second would not surprise me.

In the other group, Western and Explosion are the obvious choices. Right now, Puma is playing like a Division 3 team so they will not be a factor. The Bolts may be able to slip in over Explosion, however. This Explosion team are looking less like the second best MA team and more and more like a relegation candidate that cannot play defense.

Last time Scorps played Fuller Hamlets when it mattered (state tournament), the Scorps won easily, by 3 or 4 goals. I don't expect less. this year's scorps u13 seem to have it down, they play well when it matters. I expect them to advance easily and also play Stars to overtime in the final.

Kind like their U16 team too. They start slow and are in their best form by state cup. Maybe it's some sort of club development plan?

Not really, the U13 Scorps simply have never done very good in MAPLE. They have made the semifinal in both the u11 and u12 tourneys, and they go to good events like CASL and Jefferson Cup. Because they do well in these events, they keep getting into the higher brackets. Did you notice that Implosion FC U13 girls only got into the third division at FC Delco? Just a difference in philosophy. U16 Scorps always seem to do well in State cup, they don't do well at any other time during the year!

At this point in the season, true colors are staring to be shown. Lets take a look:

1. STARS - Still on top with no signs of slowing down. Even without a full roster, will not be beaten this Mapple season.

2. Blackkwatch: Look at the record and the goal differential and you seem this team is unmercifully beating on teams. This squad is legit and should finish in the top three. However, they play a brand of soccer dissimilar and not nearly equal to the team in the number 1 spot.

3. SCORPIONS- If this team can get healthy and stay healthy, they should finish in top 2. Big win over Explosion shows this group is pulling away from the pack and should be in the top two come years end. Still, not nearly as good as Stars.

4. Western: Western has improved and this mom would not at all be surprised if they were playing in the SC finals. Still, something tells me that they will falter and fall back after an impressive start. Highlight of their season was mustering a lucky draw with Stars.

EXPLOSION- Once touted as the next great thing, this squad will plummet this year. Its a solid town team with 2-3 great tathletes. No longer a serious threat.

6. Rays - A well rounded team that lacks the polished talent to be the last team standing at the end of the year. The RI State Champs have a ways to go before catchiung the Mass. champs.

7. PIONEERS - Not enough firepower for this crew to be taken seriously by the top dawg.

8. Granite: Kept it close with Stars but really Stars dominated them from start to finish. Stars were too powerful. May go wiinless this season.
