Not many MA kids go to those national powers. Only to Duke and Louisville in my recollection. DAP provides that visibility.

I know the girls have Mass kids playing outside of New England. Any Mass boys actually playing on any D1 programs outside of New England? Playing! not just on a roster!

Exactly! Landing a roster spot freshman year is one thing...playing decent time and contributing is another. For anyone interested look for threads with a similar title from years past. OP takes the time to pull stats for kids on the lists to see how they've done over time. Drop out rates are high, little to no PT also high.

OP here. Looking at those MA kids who went to a National D1 power outside New England and played a lot, here is that list for 2010 to 2015.

Jack Harrison Wake Forest ( really an English kid)
                    Derek McCaffrey 2010 Louisville (Captain)
Leon Brown 2010 Notre Dame (National Champs)
                    Miles Robinson 2015 Syracuse

                    Not many for 6 seasons.

Perhaps BC is not considered a National Power (and they are in New England) but they are solid. Trevor D did well this past year..

If I did the same with New England D1's, the list would triple, with TD being one. The point early made is can a MA kid get noticed outside our region by a Natinal Caliber D1 and be considered as an impact player by that school?

BC made the NCAA elite 8 before losing to Syracuse 1-0, finished ranked #8 and #10 in the country per 2 different polls. ACC had 6 of the final top 25 teams making it the toughest conference in the country. I would say that makes BC a national power. TD was one of 6-7 impact freshmen who will make BC a national title contender for the next 3 years.

Agreed that the future looks bright but in earlier part of this decade they struggled to have a .500 record and did little in the NCAA tournament.

LL to Maryland is not DAP

I think the people who post negatively on this site/thread have really no clue on what is going on. The top players from MA can play anywhere. A lot of them choose New England schools for various reasons. And to say BC, Providence, Harvard, Uconn aren't good soccer schools would be incorrect.
