According to you, why pay for any club sports 'for all those year to end up at a D3 school'? If you look at the list, there are some excellent academic schools that the kids are attending. If soccer is the difference to get your kid into a high academic ranked school then great!!! If it is the thing that gets your kid into any particular school then great.
I was replying to a comment that was specifically about the Bolts, that's why. My point was why are we talking about the number of Bolts players on this list if the kids could've gotten in without soccer.

But they want to play soccer. There is not a single thing on this site more simple to understand that has been so needlessly and purposefully confused.

Ok, but my POINT is you can play soccer without spending a fortune at these clubs. You can make some of these D3 squads with no club play. Now, can you play at Amherst without it, probably not, but....

          That response was predictable.

Kids naturally want to play at the highest levels where they are competitive and challenged. The chances of being a meaningful player at these good schools are enhanced significantly by a kid pushing him or herself to maximum potential, and better training and competition often facilitate that. There is nothing difficult to understand. Kids aren't playing and loving their sport at 11, 12, 14, 16, 18 because of a prearranged business decision. This stuff is simple folks. Don't let one person confuse and distort the difficulty in comprehending.

Please list the D3 squads where you can play and be a regular player with no club background (or equivalent).

Most of these schools have club teams and intramurals. What's wrong with playing there if you just want to play?

Your response is equally predictable. It is simple, but that doesn't make it any less stupid.

Please articulate what makes it stupid, and be sure to include an analysis of what you did to your own flesh and blood.

I feel it is stupid to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a kid to play soccer and get nothing out of it except the experience of paying soccer. With my own son...he played some club, which was fairly cheap...then he made the Revs, which was free...then he went to a D1 college, which is pretty cheap as well...due to the scholarship he earned, by playing well at the DAP club...that was free.

Good for you, BTNT. Congrats on the son. My kid played D3, played high level club but did not spend tens of thousands of dollars and had the time of his life at a dream school. He has zero debt and he starts med school in August.

Congratulations. I am not who you think I am, but your obsession with BTNT is hysterical to me. Zero debt, due to what exactly? Academic merit or the fact that he has parents that are wealthy enough to foot the bill for a $45k+/yr school? My son will graduate with no debt as well. With minimal help from me.

"I like dreaming...'cause dreaming can make you mine.
                          I like dreaning..."

I don't know why, but this song just popped into my head?

I know why because you are dreaming your kid had my kids life.

Thanks, BTNT. Glad to hear your son got a free ride and free club. Which D1? We'll continue to be happy with our situation even if that's not OK with you.
