Someone earlier asked how many of the kids on the D1 list signed letters of intent (got athletic scholarships). Of course you don't know, but you know the Ivy kids didn't, and you can bet that some of the UMass kids didn't (since they have so few scholarships to start with). You'd guess that some of the other kids didn't either given the level of player involved vis-a-vis the fact that at best the schools have 9.9 scholarships. Not knocking the kids- anybody who can play D1 is a darn good player- but just making the point that the uninitiated shouldn't be misled by the hype.

I will agree on the Ivy portion. The rest not so much, if these schools simply give you books you need to sign a LOI. Scholarship money is limited, but thsee schools get pretty creative and if they give you $1 there has to be a contract.

All that being said, the math can work that even a very limited scholarship there for a MA resident can still beat more fulsome money from private or out-of-state public institutions.
