Does that even matter? The point is, good players don't necessarily need DAP to go d1.

I would have thought that all 22 boys on both the Revs U18 and Bolts U18 squad would be on the d1 list based on what you hear from the DAP parents.

$220k? Where did you get that figure? None of the Nepsac kids on this list are paying sticker price for their prep school.

If your kid can play you don't pay

Bottom line top prep players are going to as good or better schools than any most DAP players
It's their stronger academics that help get them there. And if you have playing chops you're not paying full boat for prep school

                Exactly.

The point is that kids can attend a prep school and still get to a D1 college. The prep school league is very competitive. Don't be jealous that they got a good education and are fully prepared to take on both the athletic and academic workload.

Seriously, you believe people don't have a right to say something about this? The older boy never had the talent to play at Stanford. That was a father pushing a son further than he was capable of. Calling in a few professional favors. Now, there is another one, who probably shouldn't even be playing D1 and everybody is supposed to look away like it isn't happening?

ok? now what happened? where is the backup goalie at High Point?

I would have thought that all 22 boys on both the Revs U18 and Bolts U18 squad would be on the d1 list based on what you hear from the DAP parents.
Perhaps this was the expectation for some of the Revs players. The majority of this group of Bolts players is not D1 material. You could easily tell from their performance the past two years.

Are all the D3 players listed here on the team or do they have to make the team when they show up for pre-season. It's a great achievement to get into some of these very difficult to get into academic schools. That in itself is a significant achievement. IMO more impressive than playing soccer at some of these school. Are these players guaranteed that they will make the team?

Not contract/money at play with D3 so sure anything can happen. But coaches won't pull that trick often because if word gets out it can hurt future recruiting. That said, there have been plenty of cases of kids who showed up in August not in condition and ready to work hard. There are cuts all the time - even from D1 or D2 - or be on the bench all season and then cut/writing on the wall. Making a squad is only part of the battle.

Maybe that's how things work if your are not sure your grades will allow you to get into these schools, so you could use your soccer skills to increase your chances. Your soccer skills may not be enough for D1, but in the end they help in your career plans.

Since there is no financial commitment from a D3 school to a student athlete, there is no letter of intent signed. Therefore, D3 student athletes can be cut from the team if the coach sees fit.

No guarantees other than anything verbal the coach might have said to get the student athlete to attend the school.
