I know you've discussed the changing role of DAP clubs over the past few years, nearly all of whom are public or parochial school students; have you observed any difference in recruiting of privates ?
Over 30 from privates now, and a few parochials - observations?

Would be interesting to hear what DAP people say. Looks like pretty impressive outcomes for the Revs, and less so (from a soccer level perspective) for many of the Bolts. Of course a college choice has lots of factors, but are the Bolts kids making academic decisions (to play D3 but in some cases at "better" schools) or was this just the right level of play?

One can point to prep kids on the list going to high level D1 programs, but most of those kids are foreign so there's really no conclusion to be drawn.

Seems to me that if your goal is to play D1 soccer, the most likely path is still to play DAP. Conversely, if that's not your goal, then I'd think that most wouldn't make the sacrifice to give up high school soccer (and otherwise commit the time to play DAP). But I remember reading somewhere on here where a parent was saying that the goal for his kid was always to play D3 at one of the elite academic schools, and playing DAP (along with ensuring good grades) was a good investment towards that goal. Not sure the DAP teams would like that, but I thought it was pretty interesting (certainly a new approach to me, as I had been swallowing the narrative that most of these parents were chasing a D1 scholarship illusion).

This sentiment has been in play since DAP started and the results have basically been the same since the start. Players/parents will use DAP to whatever end game they ultimately want for their college choice. The fact that there is so little athletic scholarship $$$ for D1 Men's soccer in new England (in comparison to the Women's side) leads many in DAP (say 50% of roster--not saying any of the above are top or bottom of roster---just an example) down the non-D1 path early. The other part could be talent, academics or it could be I'd rather start and play 4 years at high level D3 at a highly competitive academic college, then perhaps sit or never be a full-time player at D1. Or it could just be they want different size (small) or location....we'll never know. That said Congratulations to all of the HS Class of 2016 and good luck with their college destinations, and hopefully a rewarding college soccer career whether it's D1, D2 or D3.

Why? Because the truth was told? If you don't want people to fire shots, don't hand them the ammunition.

I look at this list and it appears there at least as many prep school/NPL (NEFC, stars, GPS) boys going D1 as there are DAP boys.

It is important to consider both the numerator (number of players going D1) AND the denominator (total number of prep school/NPL or DAP players). The percentage of DAP players going D1 is FAR greater than the percentage of prep school/NPL players going D1.

                              Gee that's insightful ...

Bottom line top prep players are going to as good or better schools than any most DAP players

So shell out $220K for Prep HS and get your kid as far as he would go if he joined DAP. I get you don't get a "headmaster" at his public HS, but maybe that is a good thing.
