Who cares about GPS uniforms cost. Most GPS parents are loaded , it doesn't matter to them if they pay $150.00 $300.00 or $500.00.

Their kids probably have $200.00 shoes too. What kids wear doesn't make them any better or worse soccer players.

I'm still confused. How does this differ from SSS, Stars, NEFC?
And please stop with the "their worth it" responses. That's a decision each family makes for themselves factoring in convenience, friends, coaching, etc.
Disclosure: I am a happy GPS dad. I know happy NEFC families. Stars and SSS seem to have content parents as well. Why bother to rage against GPS - did your kid get cut or beaten? Is it their GS ranking that you pretend not to care about?

        GPS parent

Hilarious, gps parent or gps coach acting as a gps parent. Ha, you are so smart. Its ok, we see through. I understand. Either you are protecting your income, or you have an average kid, and are not aware of the layer or 3 of talent above yours.

GPS is fine if you have an average player and don't mind spending double. You also basically play other gps teams 75% of the time. Maybe more In tournaments, and in season. That part sucks. Over and over playing the same teams. Blah blah blah. awful.

Who owes the needham memorial day tournament? GPS. Look at the only tournaments GPS teams play in. They are all owned by gps. Thats why you mostly play gps teams. They want all the tourney fees. Its a scam. Points scam too.

        WAKE UP!

I think I do have an average kid. Don't most of us? You still didn't answer my question. How is it different from other mega clubs? Same price, similar tourney schedule, same leagues (NEP, NPL). All you have done is reveal your own trick to pose as a parent on TS. No parent would have your motivation. GPS must have fouled you real good.

Different poster. I was a GPS dad and I also was an NEFC dad. The biggest difference I experience between is the "illusion" of development with GPS. When we were with GPS the first year, we played only GPS teams. It was like playing town soccer.

Then the second year, it was tournaments where 90% of the teams were from GPS. Just like other sports, there is an advantage to learning how to play against different styles which we didn't have by playing GPS exclusive tournaments.

We finally realized that unless you make it to the NPL team, you are kind of stuck in this GPS soccer bubble where money flows in but never goes out, i.e. no outside tournaments.

I am a parent. I am trying to be clear so no one makes the same mistakes. Thats all. They are a machine. You will see if you stay for years. It is not the same price. They are almost double. Not the same tournament schedule. Its unfortunate that unless you have a really talented kid, You and your money will fall through the cracks. I know NEFC, Stars, and SSS all have the best training programs. But it takes experience and a little club hop to realize.

Appreciate you sharing your experience. I was an NEFC dad for my older daughter (now in college) and I am a GPS dad now for our youngest. NEFC was great, but we experienced a strong bias toward the Central team as far as access to Elite - as in NO ONE from the region allowed to play, and specifically told at tryouts that they "didn't want to break up the region". I understand the logic, which was that it was not worth disrupting Elite team to upgrade a bench player. I believe this was a THEN problem. My observation of NEFC NOW is that they are very fair. But I remember that NEFC quickly cashed all the checks from our families, and did little to provide the exposure we expected. And I get it, our girls just weren't that good, except that 3 of them are now playing on college teams with girls from those teams. Its just that they needed their grades to get in.

My younger D's friends were all going to GPS, and I had no reason for loyalty to NEFC. The cost for GPS is expensive, but despite what TS posters say, it's not more than the others. The knocks on GPS - mostly that NPL is fine, but regional/NEP teams are a money grab from parents - still apply to NEFC and Stars as well. How are United - Barcelona - Real different? We are having a great experience. We have seen club provide fair options for players to get on NPL. I am sharing one families experience. Thank you to all parents for sharing their experiences.

It is interesting to hear that there are three players playing college ball, Who apparently were not recruited. Can you please share a little more information about this. At what level are these girls playing? Are these girls total walk ons? Or did the coach say come play if you get accepted?

Thats silly. No one holds great talent back. If your daughters were misplaced by mistake then it would have been corrected in following years by the or another club. They obviously had no talent. Where are they playing college? cmon. another bitter parent. And GPS is double. you are a clown and stupid if you think $1800 is the same as $3695.

And there is not a tremendous amount of movement up from the regional teams to the NPL teams (an occasional late bloomer or missed talent), but generally replacements for the NPL teams will be recruited in from the outside.

NESCAC, come play if you get accepted. Well see how much they play and how long they stick with it. Another just made McGill as total walk-on.

I actually said they weren't good enough. As for talent, they had our genes, so it has to be NEFC's Fault. So Stars and NEFC cost $1,800, good to know.
