So my daughter is currently on a U13 team, but not one of the big clubs. She is going to tryouts tonight, but because I see threads on just about every other age group, I wanted to see what people were doing and who they are trying out for etc...I know SSS, Breakers, NEFC and Stars are strong teams, but not sure what else is out there. Is this the year that you see a lot of movement, or was last year the year? Good luck to everyone at tryouts.

Unfortunately tryout time isn't an ideal way to assess a team/club, or for a coach to assess her. Better would be to get her to team practices prior to tryouts but you may have run out of time.

If you want to do some research to find what the "best" soccer situation is for your kid, you need start the process months before tryouts take place. She needs to participate in training sessions for some of the teams that might interest her, and you should see the teams play actual games so that you can decide whether you like the tone of the coach, the style of play, the types of parents you might be standing on the sideline with, the commute, the level of competition, etc. You can start the process in the fall, if your daughter is a really good player. Some teams will add a player or two mid-year if the kid is a difference-maker. If that's not your daughter, then start the scouting process early in the spring.

Hamlets had big numbers as well.
FC United looks to have stolen players from other central Mass clubs.
