New GU15 Top Ten After State Cup Results

Now that State Cup has concluded, here are what I see as the current top ten going into tryouts..

Feel free to adjust and comment as you see fit...

    1. NEFC Elite - Rolled through State Cup easily. Winner of New England NPL and major tourneys (Jeff and PDA)
    2. Stars ECNL - Not sure this is deserved, but giving benefit of the doubt. Not enough results to promote or demote, but could be lower.
    3. NEFC Premier - NEP Champs, NEFC Tourney Finalist (Lost to NEFC Elite), Needham Tourney Champion, State Cup Finalist (Beat Stars NPL in semi, Lost to NEFC Elite in a landslide in final)
    4. Stars NPL - Again, not sure if deserved but giving benefit of the doubt. Not enough results to promote or demote. Northeast NPL Champs, but lost to NEFC Premier 3-0 in State Cup.
5 Scorps NPL Scorps NPL Finalist in NEFC Tourney and Jeff Cup Lower division. 4th in Northeast NPL. Beat NEFC Central in NEFC Tourney
    6. NEFC Central: Second in NEP, Won Seacoast Tourney. Lost to Scorps NPL in NEFC Tournament
    7. Scorps ECNL: Team in decline. Best talent leaving. No results to speak of except an abysmal ECNL season.
8 GPS NPL: Team has improved, but still inconsistent. Did well in New England NPL, but lost to Scorps NPL, NEFC Central and NEFC Premier in Tournaments
    9. Aztec NPL: Big drop off this year for this team. Went from arguably number 2 last year to this spot. Lost to Scorps NPL, GPS NPL in Tourney, League and State Cup play
    10. North Shore United: Not a great year in Maple, but won second division in NEFC Tourney beating Scorps NPL

    Also Ran: NE Rush

NE Rush was in MYSA state cup and didn't qualify for playoffs. That state cup was won by NSU GU15. Most of your other listings were in the NEP State cup.

Is this a club promo. Who needs try outs when your in the top ten. What's the chances of making any of those teams?

My list is based on this year not what or what does not happen.

          1) NEFC Elite
          2) Stars ECNL
          3) Breakers ECNL - Still did well in local tournaments against solid teams.
          4) NEFC Premier - Based on NEFC Elite results I put them lower.
          5) Stars NPL - 3-0 loss to NEFC but could have just been a fluke.
          6) Breakers NPL - Biggest surprise to me but winning against some solid opponents.
          7) NEFC United - Very solid team
          8) GPS NPL - Not sure who will show up
          9) GPS North Shore - Beat Breakers NPL in tournament final in PK's
          10) Aztecs - Struggling to find themselves.

All of these teams are very good choices and have some good coaching. Will be all US Club Soccer teams next year. Show you where the future is for the best teams.

The people that put these lists together know nothing about what is the real picture here.
Some results are 1 win out of 10 games between 2 opponents but are still a major factor to making this list.Tough to understand.

So who else should be added to this list? Quite honestly I can't think of another team that should be added in this age group.

May be no one needs to be added but putting a list together is tough to do based on results.
GPS North beating Breakers NPL in PK's is useless and Breakers NPL beating Aztecs is very similar as it is a wash to NEFC Central tying NEFC Premier. these results can happen any day at youth level and are no indication that if these teams played again the score would be similar.

No team will play each other 10 times in a season. A win is a win and based on this years results against like opponents. How does this list look since obviously you think your club should be listed as the top three.

                  1) NEFC Elite
                  2) NEFC Premier
                  3) NEFC United
                  4) NEFC SC

All other suck and got lucky when playing us.

I would remove NEFC SC!! LOL! The original list didn't have Premier or United any higher than they deserve. I don't think anyone would put Premier or United at 2 or 3.

                      Lists are Fun

The OP put together his/her attempt at an objective list. It even included justification, match evidence, and qualifiers. Thanks for getting the conversation going. It's entertaining.

Those who get their sacks twisted - more entertaining!

Yes, they are a 'B' team also, so what's your point?

BB sold that team as good or better than NEFC Elite. That's why.

No kidding. The teams are in different leagues and don't always play each other, so a case has been made using anecdotal evidence based on head to head and common opponents, league results and got soccer points. Obviously there are differing opinions and circumstances that could sway the rankings. The list is a best effort based on the evidence we have and a means for conversations. Have fun with it, provide your own input on changing the order or adding different teams. That is what this site is for... "Talking Soccer".

Not with that team, so bear with me. Not sure if that is true or not. I have never heard anyone comparing Stars NPL and NEFC Elite. Definitely a good team. Big, physical, fast, skilled. They got beat on Saturday. Maybe on another day, they will do the beating.
