Of course, you idiot. The NPL teams schedule was finally just put up there in the past day or so!

Why is the BU15 2nd place vs 3rd place game not on the schedule? Are the scorpions not bothering to show up because they're going to play academy now?

Some teams that made the Regional semis could not attend the NEP final four. In our division, the 1st and 5th place teams went to the final four.

9 v 9 will add another wrinkle too.
We lost out on the championship because some ulittles wanted to play up and the ref gave them calls because they were small and got knocked around. The new rule is needed.

The Ecumenical league in Lowell - which is a bunch of private schools - is effectively a u12 and u14 age group combined. The kids have fun but some kids come up to the waist of others in some instances. When the taller kid makes a fair challenge for the ball, the smaller kid can easily get knocked over. Then you have the smaller kids coach on the other line complaining b/c her player is in danger when the call is not given.

I think a fair argument can be made for and against calling a foul in this instance and is handled differently by different refs - I think not many refs have experience managing a combined u12 and u14 game too.

That used to get me and my kid pissed, waste of time playing the game until we found the fix.
Your not allowed to come anywhere near them so my kid would blast the ball at them sending them to the bench crying.
Kind of soccer / dodge ball.

Are the game times changing with 9v9 or just the number of players on the field?
When will NEP announce the changes?

Sounds like fun if they do not change the rules I will gladly drive 80 miles one way per game for some ulittle soccer/dodgeball.

Any truth to the fact that starting in 2016-2017 season, all US Club Leagues going to birth year age groups? That will blow up many top teams if true.

                      Nothing yet but likely coming.

Kids with August - December birthdays will be playing with the next age group up. So if you have a player that is a U13 now (will be a U14 next fall 2015-2016), this means that they will jump to U16 for the 2016-2017 season when/if the changes are made.

Surely they'll phase it out, so when new players are coming through, they will play by birth year and the ones who have been playing for a while will continue with calendar year??

That would be the "Sensible" way to do it and hopefully the way its done. That being said, sometimes sensibility, rational thoughts and common sense are absent from decisions made about youth sports.

Massive understatement. Because for all the times decisions appear to be sensible, common sense, and on the right track, the follow through has a funny way of finding the wrong track.
