I think the point being made is that, given his track record, Nothing BTDT posts regarding D1 transfers should be given any credence.
For all his hot air, BTDT has failed miserably in college placement for his older daughter.

Wrote a dumb ass who has spent years trying to convince anyone who will listen that his sons D3 choice made the two of them soooo much smarter than the stupid parents who let their kids accept full scholarships to play D1 soccer.

Of course there is recruiting in D3. It may not involve scholarships, but it often involves admissions assistance.

As P has written numerous times, the D3 choice was right for his kid. He does not claim that it is the right choice for everyone. He does not claim that he is smarter than all D1 full scholarship parents. (other than perhaps BTDT)
But that D1 "full" scholarship to play soccer is very rare. Likely not more than 1 Mass kid a year is getting a true full ride. And there is no guaranty for future years.
So, for many of the potential D1 players (not the national team level, or the top 25 school recruit) they might at least take a look at what the D3 options might be. It they are committed to playing soccer at the absolute top level they can, then, sure, no reason to think about D3. But, why not look at what kind of a total package say, Wheaton, might put together and compare it to what FDU offers.

If I had his record of poor decision making I would keep a very low profile.
Does anyone support his views regarding soccer? (Certainly many people enjoy his getting under P's skin.)
With all the advantages he has had, what has he accomplished? Completely failing as a father-adviser to his older daughter.
With his fancy D1 education and his father's contacts he should have done far more with his life. What a sad sad specimen of a human being. What a waste of opportunity.

For sake of argument, let's define a scholarship athlete as someone who is getting at least a 1/3 scholarship. How many Mass girls fall into that category each year? 4, 6, but probably not 10. So, T-S should be all about those few kids? Perhaps there should be a separate place, with PH as the admin, for those very few who fit in the category. Then the rest of us peasants could stay on T-S and have a CIVIL DISCUSSION.
I think the poster's point was that there are relatively few players getting 1/3 or more scholarships. Maybe the cutoff to be considered a "scholarship athlete" should be a half scholarship. Either way, there are relatively few such lucky players. They deserve our congratulations. But, perhaps the whole word should not revolve around them

Three pages since my last post (#165), all of which by Perspective/OCDMan. His prescription must have run out yesterday.
