All these MA teams are as good as the best from St. Louis, Cleveland, Dallas, etc. or La Roca who won the Western regional in San Diego? Yeh sure. You are one grumpy and pathetic loser soccer dad. BTW, the teams from NY/NJ are way overrated.

This is no more than another tournament. Any assumption that this is a true national championship that was fed by a true regional tournament is a farce. The Hanover tournament was one of two Northeast futsal tournaments over the past month. For neither was there a guarantee that the best teams were in attendance. Arguable, for Massachusetts, NEFC, WU, and the Revs would be able to provide good competition but none showed up at any of the 'regional' tournaments.
This is the case at any other of the 'regional' tournaments. When I see the Dallas Texans, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, etc etc etc showing up with Futsal teams at the regional championships and then attending a National tournament then I will be believe that these are something resembling a National Championship. Until then, Futsal provides a unique opportunity to train and touches upon skills that might not otherwise be practiced.

No tournament is a true national tournament/ regional tournament if your logic is correct since there are always some good teams that choose not to play.

Well the Dallas Texans kids play in City Futsal, Richmond United play for RVA, Gottschee teams were there etc. Bolts and Manhattan (Gottschee affiliated) were both at Northeast regionals and would easily defeat NEFC or WUP, that's just not serious. If the argument is not enough stronger young teams play futsal, well whose fault is that? The better futsal teams showed up in KS.

Can say that about ECNL championship, NPL championship, etc. So there is no true national championship in soccer either?

With regard to the Tournament in Kansas.....
.......and Explosion, a host of teams from Kansas that applied.......some age groups had 10-16 teams and others had 4-6 teams.......no Red Bulls, no Revs, no Sereno, no Liverpool (Tx), no Cedar Stars, no Baltimore, no Fullerton, etc etc etc.

Just like the tournament in Disney, Arizona, Manhattan, Bethesda......NEFC??, I don't doubt that there were good teams playing, however, compared to the DAP, USYS.....even NPL......the Futsal Tournament is not a National Championship organized in such a way to bring the champions of all the Regions to one local.

A tournament....yes.....a competitive tournament.....sure.......a national championship....NO.

I like Futsal and don't minimize its value, but as an organization it is in its infancy. That said, there is a growing nationalism for Futsal and it might, someday, become more significant.

I would say that the Kansas futsal tournament is as much of a national tournament as was the Presidents cup in Arizona...

NEFC always does "very well". They just don't win big tournaments or ever score against Valeo.

I don't know what "phantom" teams you're referring to.... but a previous poster listed several teams that did at least as well at the Northeast Regionals as some of the teams who chose to travel to KC did.

U12 - Bolts made the finals at regionals. They lost to Valeo 4-2 at regionals (a good result, I would expect) but went to NJ.

U13 - GPS and Black Knights made the semis at regionals.
GPS beat Explosion and lost to Valeo. Black Knights beat Valeo.

U14 - GPS and Black Knights made the final at regionals. Valeo didn't advance from the group stage.
Black Knights beat Gottschee in the semis - Gottschee lost to Sporting KC Academy in the semis in KC.

Problem is - except for the Valeo U12s, who made the final... none of the northeast teams did very well in KC. This would indicate that some teams from the northeast regional that didn't go to KC could have done pretty well. (Not "would have"... but "could have"... so relax.)

No excuses. It was a great game and we accomplished quite a bit. We fell back on our heels and the opponent, who was excellent, took advantage and proved to be the better team. Congrats to all.
