    Bucknell Dumps Coach

Doesn't get much more stark than this...

Bucknell Launches Search for Head Women's Soccer Coach
    Release: 02/12/2015
LEWISBURG, Pa. – A national search has been announced for Bucknell’s next head women’s soccer coach.
Former head coach Ben Landis is no longer employed by Bucknell University. As it is a personnel matter, the University will not comment further on the subject.

That school is F'd up. Not just athletic department. Got caught cheating on their admissions stats too. Fish rots from the head.

No, it doesn't get much more blunt than that. Means he was either stealing or doing something in his personal life that the school is embarrassed about.

Yeah - it's either something really bad OR their PR department hasn't a friggin' clue how to write a press release. The phrasing not only makes him sound bad but doesn't speak well of the school either. Their statement creates far more questions. They would have been better off saying something like he's leaving to "spend more time with his family" or "to pursue other career options" like my big company says all the time when someone gets canned.

Yes so much better than "we fired his azz"

As for recruited players they are SOL if they've already made their decisions. They either stay or try and go elsewhere (good luck at this late date). Reinforces the importance of choosing a school because you like the school/academics first, soccer second. That coach you liked so much when you toured literally can be gone tomorrow.

Bucknell didn't get caught cheating on admissions stats. They self-reported a minor difference in SAT scores - one that was caused by a small group not flowing into the computer tracking. It was clearly not intentional since they actually understated their average ACT score at the same time. The difference was so small that USNews didn't change their ranking by even a tiny bit after they self-reported the discrepancy. I am a Bucknell fan for their frankness, as opposed to the hundreds of schools that continue to report false or misleading data intentionally.

How the hell did the Bucknell University PR staff ever find this site?

Despite your Superiority Complex, your kid couldn't get in. So only you should be embarrassed.

                              Not from Bucknell
