      I don't necessarily disagree with the idea of a Professional Athletics degree, however, like some other degree programs, the student/athlete should be required to apply to the program after their sophomore season so that the school is only admitting athletes with a reasonably realistic chance of earning a living as an athlete. (Although whether anyone is making a living playing soccer is highly debatable. I recently read an article that >30% of MLS salaries goes to the top 7-8 players and that most players earn <$40K.) Let's also remember that the average career of a professional athlete is only 3-4 years.
