Awful throw, awful call. I just don't understand the reasoning for throwing the ball when you're so close to the end zone. Just doesn't make any logical sense.

      Has to be fixed.

Bad call probably yes. But at the same time the defense was all over Seattle and the QB almost threw right into the Pat's arms. Can't completely blame the coach. Some are calling for the coach's resignation but he's not the only one to blame. Sometimes stuff (like defense) happens

Oh please. One team had to win.

Think that was their point - "stuff happens.' In the end one team wins, the other goes home angry and upset.

At least it was a decent game and not a big blowout.

I am sure the Patriots cheated on the play and stole the signal and then kidnapped the wide receiver and replaced him with one of their practice squad players who deliberately allowed Butler to step in and intercept the pass. - Joe Montana

Second down inside the 1-yard line, one timeout left, 26 seconds to go, best running attack in the NFL - Belichick had the Seahawks right where he wanted 'em! ;-D

Yes did have them right where he wanted them. With two timeouts left everyone (including the Seahawks) expected the Patriots to call a time out to preserve time for Brady to move down the field. Instead Belichek allowed the clock to run. That made a run by the Seahawks a bad choice. If the run was stopped the Seahawks would need to use their final time out and be forced to pass on third down. They gambled on catching the Pats looking for the run. And as was pointed out they had failed to convert from that

And IF Seattle had run it and scored like they would have, then Belichick not calling timeouts to preserve time would be getting talked about as the worst decision in Super Bowl history.

Yes. As always easy to analyze the next day - woulda, coulda, shoulda...To me it was the perfect storm of questionable call, excellent defense and the QB practically throwing it the arms of New England. Everyone is blaming the coach but the QB should have tossed the ball out of bounds if he had no other options.

That's where you gotta give Butler credit. When Wilson is releasing the ball the receiver looks wide open. The play shouldn't have been called but I'd bet that at least 9 out of 10 NFL QBs would have thrown that same pass.

Yup. It was incredible coaching that had Butler anticipating that play and extraordinary execution by Butler to pull it off with the cherry on top of an interception, without which, the Pats still probably lose the game.

One time where the word 'awesome' truly fits!

Finally some sense. Those that simply shout run are clueless. Barnwell on ESPN have stats on TD and turnover percentages run vs. pass in that situation, almost exactly the same. Attempting to prevent NE from having time to counter with FG and to run three plays meant one of three had to be pass. Butler was 7 yards away on release. Great preparation won game.
