New Stadium for soccer in NE?

Heard serious talk of combining efforts north of Boston to get a stadium on public transportation closer to fan base. What would it take? Anyone for a lobby?

The Revolution are 18 years old, and probably for the last 12 years we’ve been working on this.” The old regime was not as open to the idea of a new stadium, but Kraft is optimistic about Mayor Marty Walsh getting the job completed. “I think Mayor Walsh believes in the sport and understands the impact it could have on the city beyond just the sport but what you can do with the use of the city and cultural events,” Kraft said.

i would never drive to north of boston to see that product!
playoff bound or not... the brand of soccer played is not as good as what they play in college or a good U13 team.. its kick ball

Isn't it a circular reference though? If the product was more in the spotlight, wouldn't it shine better? It's a good time to strike. The product is inexpensive and the market is poised for enthusiasm/interest

[other] Major cities / Seattle, San JOse ... have good attendance. Seems like the size would also determine attendance rates a 28K v 68K stadium

Watching the so called "politicians" discuss the possibility on the news made me queezy. They appear utterly incompetent. That would be worse for Boston - at least the Big Dig made major improvements for decades to come, perhaps even a century. Olympics in Boston ? ugh

Not sure which is worse - FIFA or the IOC.

Anyway, back to the local stuff. Please, no soccer-specific stadium for the Revs to the north of Boston. Put it somewhere that's more central, like Framingham, so that it can draw supporters from not just Boston and the North Shore, but south of Boston, Worcester and Providence as well.
