Could someone tell me who these 2 are BTDT and Perspective??

To the Newbie OP - One of the characteristics of Perspective is he projects his own behavior on to others, as is shown by the post above. You will find other example throughout this thread as well as throughout this entire forum.

Perspective suffers from a condition known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. His obsession is BTDT. His compulsion is posting here under the assumption that all posts contradicting him are by BTDT. We can also assume he suffers from paranoia.

BTDT is the son of a well known professional athlete who also became a sports TV personality associated with a New England team. BTDT himself was a D1 athlete at Duke. One of his daughters has attained NT status. The man is opinionated and he bases those opinions on his experience. That's not to say he's always right. I myself have challenged him over the years. Howevet, this seems to piss off some in this forum. For those, other than Perspective who I have indicated suffers from a mental illness, I can only assume a touch of envy. I don't see any reason to get pissed off at someone because you disagree with their opinion. It's not like BTDT is suggesting you be beheaded because you disagree with him. I personally preferred to make an opposing argument based on my knowledge of the issues being discussed. Unfortunately, this forum rarely goes down those paths any more, basically because Perspective takes over any discussion with his obsessive rants directed at BTDT instead of the actual issues attempting to be discussed.

Suzie is a real person whom the dark forces of evil represented by Perspective have harangued back into anonymity because she had something damaging to say about how the Stars treated her family. She dared to verbalize what a lot of ex Stars parents will tell you about their experience so they attacked and tried to pretend something like that doesn't happen by minimizing her post as a fictionalized story. Sadly, it did happen and all Perspective's efforts have succeeded in doing is forcing yet another poster to slip back into anonymity. She is still here though.

TO the NEWBIE OP --

BTDT is a massive narcissist who did not live up to family expectations (in his view) and has a bottomless well of rage because of that, and deep-seated insecurity and inferiority. He has been bragging about how much he knows and giving voluminous advice on the site for 6+ years, including his obsession with D1 even when not indicated, forcing kids who don't pan out at D1 to go to the lowest levels of D3, raging for years on end about Stars, Scorps and ECNL, claiming that any high school player can play high D3 and that club is completely unnecessary, and disparaging anyone and everything that comes across his path, makes wild accusations about who certain people are including accusations of criminality, invents scenarios and characters and screen names to further all of his poisonous agendas, etc, etc.

Perspective actually works for a living as a professional with advanced degrees, comes from a family of MDs and PhDs, was a D1 athlete, advises parents and kids in the college search, has nothing to do with ECNL, spent a fraction of the money BTDT has spent on soccer, and has provided a ton of material on the site that most have appreciated and that has absolutely nothing to do with BTDT.

OMG, BTDT! Thank you! You can lie with the best of them. And not even your fiction story makes any sense. "Suzie" left long before Perspective started calling you about her. She was here 2-3 weeks, just enough to serve "her" purpose for you. And you didn't make her into a character who would just sheepishly slink away. Met up with some from a younger team at a college game whose experience was similar to my own which was similar to Suzie's. I am not trying to dissuade anyone from joining the club, just enter in with eyes wide open. Each club has their plusses and minuses. If one doesn't work for you, try another. My only advice, is come U18 season think carefully about your options. That season is a total waste of time.

Anyone with half a brain can recognize that it is just you furiously banging away on your keyboard. Your mental illness taking over and you think everything and everyone is BTDT. It is quite sad.
