Correct. The NEPSAC independents do the same thing. That's why it's the best school league in the country.

Skip the ISL and go with the Prep School league like Andover, Berkshire,...
The ISL don't give scholarships for sports.

But the ISL throws need $$ at a kid that just happens to be a great athlete.

Sort of, you do need to fill out all of the paperwork. If your family is upper-middle class income, you won't get anything. You can afford it but it is still like paying for college.
That is you won't get money if you don't "need" it.

If you are a great player and you are poor, ISL is a great plan.

Not at every school but most yes. Same with any parochials - limited assistance is based on need and/or outstanding academics, not athletivs.

Actually I have had 4 kids in athletics go to ISL and I assure you we got much better financial aid than we get for college. The aid is fantastic.

                      Other 2015 D1 Boys

                      No names here.

So about 40% are playing. Of the rest:

                      7 Saw the field
                      8 DNP
                      10 NR

The latter is an increase of 7 from the end of last season. Take note.

This is one of the best threads on this site. It should be required reading for any parent and player thinking they want to play in college.

Nothing on this website even closely qualifies as required reading

nto the OP but I disagree - the lists are a great reality check. Even if you defy the odds and land a college roster spot, the odds of playing four meaningful years are not good. That means you better really like the school. Plenty of players and parents don't get that.

The lists are a joke to begin with. Most of the players listed may have played club soccer throughout high school but actually had no shot of playing in college. Especially in D1

Yet the clubs and parents love to claim them as "playing in college" when they're graduating from HS!
