Op here. Don't worry, I always do the D1's end of year analysis. I just did the D3 for a unique issue on my 2016 thread. As you know the Ivy regular season is still going strong as well as conference playoffs for others, so I was going to wait a little longer. And as always, no curt reply.

        2015 D3 Boys Subbing a Lot

I'm going to do this in alphabetic order.

        Name/School/Games/GP/GS/G/A

        Rohan Doherty/Allegheny/17/11/1/0/0
        Fikayo Ajayi/Amherst/16/15/6/0/0
        Chris Lewis/Amherst/16/8/0/0/0
        Andres Pascual/Amherst/16/8/0/0/0
        CJ Masterson/Bowdoin/15/15/0/0/2
        Andrew Allen/Brandeis/18/9/0/0/0
        Jack Stark/Clark/17/9/0/0/0
        Pirro Tomco/Clark/17/11/3/1/1
        Ben Zieff/Clark/17/14/5/0/0
        Tim Hillbrunner/Conn Coll/16/11/9/0/0
        Ben Manoogian/Conn Coll/16/14/3/1/1
        Michael Millhollen/Conn Coll/16/9/0/0/0
        Mitch Palmer/Hobart/17/14/0/1/0
        Brice Koval/Kenyon/16/13/1/1/1
        Jacob Higgins/UMA Boston/18/9/1/1/0
        Westen Dennett/MA Maritime/16/9/1/0/0
        William Taylor/MA Maritime/16/16/3/2/0
        Brendan Guilderson/MA Maritime/16/9/1/0/0
        Nick Fontana/Springfield/17/11/1/3/0
        Alex Haji/Springfield/17/17/8/2/3
        Eric Gooden/Wesleyan/16/16/3/1/0
        Nick Hawkins/Wesleyan/16/11/5/1/1
        Adam Waks/Wheaton/18/10/0/1/0

So 23 of 70 are subbing a lot. Add 10 from before and about 50% are playing much. Sounds normal.

            2015 D3 Boys Summary

So as we near the end of freshman season, let's see how the 70 verbal commits did:

            10 started a lot
            24 subbed a lot
            19 saw the field
            14 DNP
            3 were NR

            About the same as D1's.

            GL to all

BTW, I'll start all the D1's this weekend.

unfortunately that middle group "saw the field" will probably be the next group to drop out

For all of the posturing that goes on on behalf of central Mass soccer, there is a startling dearth of players from any local h/s.
                Ouch!

                      2015 D1 Boys Starting a Lot

As we approach the season's end, let's see how the freshman did.

                      Player/School/Games/GP/GS/G/A

                      Jack Harrison/Wake Forest/17/17/17/7/11
                      Aram Ouligian/Colgate/18/18/18/3/2
                      Charlie Booth/Bryant/15/15/15/0/1
                      Miles Robinson/Syracuse/19/18/18/3/0
                      Edward Venta-Yepes/UML/17/17/14/1/0
                      Matt Morana/Lehigh/18/15/13/0/1
                      Trevor Davock/BC/17/17/11/5/4
                      Amadu Kunateh/Dartmouth/16/15/9/4/1
                      Mark Dunphy/UMass/18/13/9/0/1
                      Austin Aviza/Syracuse/18/9/9/-/-

And so the usual number 10 shows up for kids really playing from MA. Pretty much the same every year. I would remark that this season there are some hot numbers from some top schools up there. Congrats to all.

So 10+6 = 16 kids play much out of 42 commits, less than 40%. A little lower than normal. One more category to go.

So 10+6 = 16 kids play much out of 42 commits, less than 40%. A little lower than normal. One more category to go.
Not unusual at all for Frosh to not see the field or have limited playing time, especially at D1. What is the point of this analysis?

If you follow these kids you'll see that a decent number of those nonplaying frosh won't even be on the roster next year.

I don't know what the OPs original intent was. He's done similar with all graduating classes for the last few years and I've found it very useful, as has my now-committed player. It is very eye opening to starry eyed players and their parents. Getting onto a college roster isn't even half the battle. Many players aren't even playing half way through; few have meaningful four year careers. It's important that people go into knowing this not only to manage their own expectations, but also when evaluating programs (avoid programs with high turnover). Coaches make great salespeople. Buyer beware.
