Not sure why someone feels they need to put them on display?

Based on prior threads and responses the person running this thread (and from other years) does it to provide information. People can use it as they please. Another (or same person?) Takes the time look at how each class does at the college level. It is very helpful and appreciated. Sure some of the those players might not make it onto a roster 2nd year but many also are major contributors.

Take it from someone who knows....most players won't regret it...if you are not getting any sizeable athletic aid (or likely none) and are not one of the D1 college's top recruits you are likely just a depth practice player and highly likely never to see the field or only very limited access in a couple of games a year if that. The list is sizeable of those tremendous Massachusetts players who go the D1 route and never see the D1 field. Unless you absolutely love this particular D1 college for the school itself why go? If you love the college, then go for it. If you know you will be playing and starting all 4 years at a D3 college which you would prefer to attend and are not giving up some serious financial athletic or merit aid it seems a very No Regrets and Easy Decision. Remember we are not taking about Top D1 recruits who are getting a substantial scholarship who are being recruited by a Number of Top D1 colleges. We are talking about very good players who are being recruited by Non-Top 30 D1 colleges who are not getting much if any scholarship and are likely not one of the colleges Top 4 or 5 recruits....yes still D1 players, but with a very uphill battle and very little chance if any to see the field. These same players would be major players and starters at D3. I've seen many Mass players take this route and none have any regrets about their decision because they chose the college they wanted to attend for the right reason....the college itself, not just because it was D1 soccer, and they have No Regrets.

You make a good point.Our kid just hit junior year and is starting to look at colleges. He always thought he wanted to play d1, Id say fits what you say could get into d1 but at the top ones prob sit for two years, d3 could start. So its not so clear cut anymore, hes thinking exactly what you said, I'm not sure want to sit at a medicore school for two years just cause its d1 when I can go to one of the best academic schools in the country (and get merit aid anymore).

When kids actrually go through the recruiting process the tough part is most of those d1 coaches wont tell you outright that prob wont play fr/soph, they are selling you so it becomes a tough decision
