PC currently ranked 3rd and is 16-5-2. Like the other said if you want soccer it's a great option that's close to home

So do all the other players get no money?

I feel bad for all those parents that have to pay all that money so they can say their kid plays D3 at Brandies.
You have to look at the big picture. Maybe their kid wouldn't get into Brandeis without being a soccer player. There are a lot of things to consider when choosing a college.

I'm calling BS on that one. You can find out the average scholarship given to a player at a school. You can also find out if the program is fully funded. I don't think there is any public information stating how many players on a team have athletic scholarships.

From this site you can see the average scholarships for Men and Women. If you follow their links, there are also interesting stats on the odds of playing a college sport and of getting an athletic scholarship. It really shows what a great accomplishment it is for any of the students on the message boards this week to pick a college, get accepted, get on the soccer team, and get a scholarship of any amount. Really wonderful.

That site lists the average "athletic scholarship" not the average "soccer scholarship" so don't get your hopes up. In schools with football teams the results could be quite skewed.

Be careful with some of the data. The average scholarship is not soccer specific. You need to read the footnotes:

                    (2) Average Athletic Scholarship is the average amount of athletically related student aid per athlete for ALL varsity sports sponsored by the specific school. Some athletes receive full awards, some receive partial and many receive none. Additionally some sports within a school may be fully funded, some partially and some sports provide no athletic scholarships. Private schools generally have higher tuition than public schools and the average award will reflect this.

Correct. The same report lists 26 players on the PC men's team for that year. So half the team gets no scholarship and the other half splits 9.9. Big dollars for you if you are one of the 13 getting athletic aid.

Why don't you do your research first buddy.

And isn't it true that the 9.9 is really a pot the coach can decide how to split? Eg he could give full or mostly full rides to a few or spread it out across more players? Anyway, thought I read it here so I know how legit some of the info is here :)

My takeaway looking at the number is that even if the "Average Scholarship" was soccer specific (numbers shown are for ALL athletics) the dollars still aren't that high. Just over $14k for men and $15k for women. I think it's reasonable to assume soccer is probably lower than that. Say the average is closer to $9? Don't get me wrong every bit helps when it comes to paying for college. And $9 helps a great deal for a state school, especially if the player also gets merit or financial aid monies. But not all D1 schools are state schools and in fact some are very, very expensive. That $9k is peanuts at Duke. I'm sure the very top players get much bigger dollars but for the "average" D1 athlete...good thing I never I never counted on any sports $ for my kids, emphasized academics and have a healthy savings account for them.

The report does say the 9.9 are spread over 13 players. It works out to an overage of about 45k per player among the recipients.

Each coach decides how he or she wants to use the available money to put together the team.

This does not seem like information meant for the public. Does anyone agree? I think you stumbled upon something and PC needs to clean up their security.

I can obviously click on your link, but just to see if it is rocket science, I searched "providence college soccer scholarships" and I don't come up with this information. Are you saying that you search this for every school and find this information? Feels like you had this link for some personal reason and since you were called out on TS you felt the need to show your cards.
