That particular Blazers team could be an exception to the DAP rule. Tey had a lot of success at high level tournaments. It helps playing and winning in the top brackets at Disney and Potomac which leads to fantastic exposure. Not many MA non-DAP teams are fortunate to be that good.

Perhaps not in MA but there are plenty of other good premier clubs out there that fit that bill as well. DAP is not the only way.

As a generic matter of DAP v. non-DAP, I think it's pretty clear that D1 programs recruit largely from DAP, so 3 D1's is pretty impressive (even if they aren't premier D1 soccer programs- although URI had a pretty damn good year). You don't need to play DAP to play D3, and the 5 schools in question are all bottom to mid of their respective leagues (really good schools and good soccer, although not at the top of their leagues). So although the 3 D1's is pretty impressive, I don't think this is extraordinary- I think you can get similar results from other top-tier non-DAP teams (but maybe with 1 or 2 D1 players and instead a kid or 2 going to St. Lawrence or Amherst).

We all should take into consideration how many of these boys who will not play at all.
There will be plenty on this list. Just like there was in 2014, 2013, 2012 etc.

Why should we consider this? Do you track players other than your son ? For what reason? Very weird

Why? Because the reality is many of these players will see little to no playing time once they arrive on campus and by junior year about 1/3 of all college athletes are no longer playing any sport. Some players and their families assume all is golden once they are on a college team but it's anything but. Players quickly realize they can't handle the athletic or academic work, or might be burned out in general. Some will get cut after a year or have career ending injuries. Others, frustrated by the experience, transfer elsewhere. It certainly doesn't happen to all but happens often enough that it's wise to go into it with eyes wide open and be prepared with a backup plan.

Someone has been tracking the last few classes - here's one thread and a quote from it (2011). There are threads on 2012 and 2013 as well. I advise anyone with a child going through the process or even just thinking about playing in college to read them. I found it very eye-opening and consistent with what I've seen experienced by some family members, friends, etc. Obviously you go into things with a positive attitude, but better to be prepared than be blindsided.

OP here, an excellent question. This began as a small class. Taking out the 2010 players, they started with 14 players going into Freshman year. They dropped 50% down to 7 (with some sad tales along the way), with 2 of the 7 still playing having transferred. The more recent classes have many more going in, highlighted by the 2013 class with 51 D1 players. They are already seeing large numbers not rostered by Sophomore year (check that thread). It will be interesting to see where they end up, as with the 2011 class. One of my observations after doing this for 5 years is about 10 kids/year in MA really end up playing in D1, and less than a handful play for teams that make the NCAA tournament. 2011 class fits that mold.

I get it, except for the fact we have some nut jobs who come on this site hoping to see a kid fail and then gloat about it., mainly cause their kid didn't go D1.

Already a lot of non-DAP D1 commits. Could be more than DAP going D1 when all is said and done. This is telling as we are at the point in MA when now graduating players had to make a choice between high school and DAP. The system to ID the best players in MA for DAP might not be working. Seems like there is good talent out their playing high school and club instead of DAP.
