JD'S philosophy has back fired on him. All his teams don't play as a team. Each player is looking out for themselves and looking for individual results instead of team results. NEFC teams play as a team because they are coached to play that way and you can see the results. JD has created this culture within his program and he is now beginning to see that it must change or he will lose players to programs who do it the right way. The NEFC U14 girls team had received a ton of exposure these last 2 years because they advance deep in tournaments where all the college coaches are at. Stars team very rarely make it deep into tournaments because they play very selfish and are not seen as much.

            question

We all know NEFC would NEVER have one without the Portsmouth Phenom so I pose this question. Would Stars ECNL have been national champs if they added her. I say yes!

Try to say something coherent next time.

I doubt it. I have seen Stars u14ecnl play many times and they do not play as a team. They have quite a few talented players but don't play as a team, very selfish. Good portion of the blame goes to JD for allowing this but parents on that team are to blame also because they don't get it and they only think about if their kid will make the next camp. Bad chemistry on that team.

The Stars did win a national title with a U19 team back in 2005. Outside of that, they actually have a pretty bad record at the nationals usually finishing down at the bottom of the group.

Why are the NEFC folks still talking about the Stars?

So now she's a phenom? You guys are so ass backward. One post says she's not that good and she couldn't hit a barn door and now we're led to believe that Stars would have won a National title with her. The answer is no they wouldn't have. NEFC is a team and not a bunch of individuals who boot the ball the length of the field in hopes that one of their fast players can run onto it. Crap way to play soccer. I'm surprised JD doesn't play a sweeper.

This is how it has always been with the Stars. Historically they recruited all of the best talent in the state but did very little with it outside the confines of the state. The scouting report on the club traditionally has been "great athletes held back by rudimentary system of play" followed by "all pressure but no defense". They are the classic under achievers.

Wow. The Stars really suck. Surely when all of their players come over to NEFC none will be able to play for the NEFC Elite teams, so I wonder how many NEFC Premier players will get knocked down.

Notice how every single top end player from NEFC immediately comes under personal attack from the Stars crowd whenever the Stars are shown to be falling behind.
