Absolutely true. But how many teams do they need to keep the field fully utilized?

Expanding into LAX or field hockey is a natural cross-sell. Personally, I think clubs would do better with a stationary field location.

My son plays tennis in Natick. People drive from all over the place to go their because their Jr. program is awesome.

This is happening at Valeo and if the Stars do it, it will happen for them.

I pointed out that this was very beneficial for Valeo.

Additionally, if you divest your club into other sports like the Bolts have, you have even more opportunities to keep the fields full.
Okay, and which of those clubs' business models bears any resemblance to what the Stars are all about?

The Rush reportedly have 40,000 players in their club spread out all over the country. Around here MPS reportedly has over 4,000 spread out several states. How does locking the club into one location make any sense? Also you LAX idea won't work because they have the same seasons and will just compete with the club for time. You need a way to use the fields when the club isn't using it to make the numbers work. Tough to make an outdoor facility work up here in New England.

Interesting comment, given that this thread started with NEFC asking why they can't get into the ECNL and clearly wanting to be included with the big boys...

Funny how this sort of post always seems to get ignored so we can bash each other. The have been lots of dramatic changes in the world of youth soccer and it appears there will more still to come. The biggest issue isn't who posted what, it is where are the soccer environment is going and where the clubs are going to go in it.

Is that what you say to your own club teams? How about the Stars NPL teams? They are in a worse NPL league. What a waste of time and money. The ECNL program is barely worth it and has a ton of turnover. Why would anyone sign up for their NPL program? How about enjoy that league.

You are the type of person who would still be talking about the great the Titanic is AFTER it hit the iceberg. Your ship is sinking and all that you can do is lash out at anonymous posters. You might want to start figuring out how you are going to get off that ship before you drown.

Now that IS funny, since that poster is on YOUR ship, LOL.

Well played, especially since you didn't have much to go on. Some people "clearly" are paying attention.

Here we go with the newest sinking ship. Not for nothing, but the 3 teams that have put NEFC on the map just happen to originate from the teams bought from BB. And don't give me the crap that the players have changed, all top teams have roster turnover. Continue to consistently develop new squads and you will be fine, but do so humbly. Otherwise, you are destined to be the same boat as Stars and Scorps (at least according to your rationale).

The facility has to outdoor with lighting and an indoor component.

The suggestion of the Lax or field hockey only comes into play from the stand point of making sure you have enough teams that desire the field.

If you can field it with soccer great but that is tough to do. If you bring in 2 other sports that many of your same clients play then it is an easy cross sell
