How about you Neo-Con? I guess it is ok to put some other child in harm's way.
We should not use our military to advance our political and business agenda unless of course you are one of these White-collar Republicans that have never seen action.

I am a different poster.
It unnerves me how easily our gov't put young people in harm's way. If you look at all the conflicts post-WWII they are really about business. In none of those conflicts were we attacked. We have a huge deficit trying to be the world's police.
So please tell me after attacking "the Liberals" what conflicts do you think were justified to fight? And if your child would have died in it, would you have been proud?
My father was in the military and my son is looking at going that same route. I would beside myself if he gave his life for Viet Nam, Bosnia, Iraq, Iran, Afgan, Central America, etc. -- All worthless causes.

P.S. 9/11 wasn't that long ago. You remember right?

Or maybe spend trillions of dollars in a 10+ year conflict, killing how many innocent people and sacrificing how many of our kids?
For what?
The thing about delusion is that the person that is delusional thinks the other person is.

The Nazis were a group of criminals too. They went unchecked and look what happened. How many more would have been killed if we allowed OBL to build his fiefdom, to recruit, to train, to plan. We chased him into the hills, into the caves. Money well spent. Again, if your desire is to be a pacifist, signing up for military service is an odd choice.

BTW -- we got OBL how many years ago? Why are we there? Why do people want to attack Syria, Egypt, Libya, etc?
And what about Kuwait, Viet Nam and Korea. Did those conflicts make us safer?
Libertarians are NOT pacifists and we are definitely NOT imperialists. We do not support initiating conflict.
Ironic, that those in favor of the pre-emptive war strategy are the first to complain that our taxes are too high.

Since that time, we have collectively decided that our interests are often best served by pre-emptive actions. They are rarely popular, but yes they have made us safer by holding our enemies in check. The Soviets, the Chinese, North Korea, and many countries in the Middle East would all have been much more aggressive were it not for the very real threat of a strong American response.
I have no issue paying taxes for a strong military. I do struggle with perpetual multi-generational welfare, SSI.
