Just be happy that u14 boys and u14 girls teams from MA have it to the semi-finals. It's an achievement that MA youth soccer should be proud of.

That has to sting a little. I bet they care that they are losing good teams. Does that mean it would be impossible for these same two teams to head back to nationals next year?

I think it is only a few crazy parents that have any bitterness to other clubs. I just posted this comment on the MAPLE thread.

I am not here to support one club or league but if you want your daughter to play college soccer you should be playing for one of these three clubs by U14. Boston Breakers Academy, NEFC or Stars have a proven track record of getting female soccer players in the eyes of college coaches through the leagues they play in and the contacts they already have with college coaches, especially local college coaches. These clubs have history with the top college programs in the country and they know what they are getting when one of these club players go to their school.

I think you overstate what type of help is available at any of these clubs. Most (if not all) of the work is being done by the player and the parents. The opportunity that the clubs provide is the exposure part. The rest is very self-directed. Even for the best players.

This is why people won't leave you alone. Stars and Scorps "traditionally spent a lot of time here demanding respect"? Really? Only seems that way because you keep saying it, and occasionally some get so tired of you they respond and you turn that in to them initiating something. And if they did do that in the past didn't do them much good, did it, with you here to shoot everything down. It's been conceded here for well over a year that NEFC is a great club and doing a great job. And it's about success over time, not just a couple of national championship appearances. And no, it won't get nicer, because things get nicer when people show class. And you will NEVER do that.

Case in point. What is this post if not one of those desperate cries for respect for the Stars and Scorpions. Time to wake up and realize that it is not 2010 any longer. The Scorpions no longer exist and the Stars are hardly what they were back then. The issue you so conveniently forget is both those entities hardly carried themselves with the sort of "grace and class" you seem to feel NEFC should be exhibiting. As they say pay back is a bitch.

We pay the bills, in this environment that is all the credit they really should be getting. These clubs don't exactly have the amount of control over a player's development like what you might find in a European academy so how could they legitimately claim to "make" players? When you think about it, with the two training sessions a week and a game most players get in our version of club soccer there is just no way any of these clubs are going to have a profound impact on the development of a player because that barely scratches the surface of what it takes to actually develop one. The truth is the average club coach has less contact with their players than a teacher does and yet that certainly doesn't stop them from overstating their importance in all of this one bit. How often do you read SAT tutors coming on here taking credit for getting a kid into Harvard?

Where have you seen any clubs or coaches overstating their importance? Why have you had 2 kids play club all these years? We know you hate spending the money, so why? You moved the first kid around to about 6 different clubs you were so desperate to find what club could offer. You just cannot stop yourself from gross distortion and lying. Do you sometimes think about who you are and what you are doing here? How could you be so utterly lacking in class? Does your spouse have any idea what you do here? How are you doing with the fellow team parents of the players you bashed? Has Mr. Pyne reached out to you? Has the board spoken with you? Their silence is really hurting perceptions of the integrity of the club. Do you really think the club needs you that badly? Hasn't the club surged ahead enough at this point that one parent shouldn't be able to drive the ship?

Here's a tip: summer stock at the high school of a neighboring town is not "the big stage". I heard NEFC is going for the world championship of U14 rec soccer after USYS. Then on to the special Olympics! Make 'em pay big red!
