you obviously have a lot to learn about sportsmanship..the coaches and parents should know better and set examples for the kids to follow..these are kids, right ? The Green lions didn't enter the tournament to get beaten senseless I am sure. I have been in such situations as a coach, parent, and a as a player when I was a kid, and adjustments were made as soon as things got out of hand to manage it, opposed to how it was handled here. You should be ashamed of your statement.

Liberal nonsense. I guess Valeo should've just quit the game so that no one's feelings were hurt.

Your DOC enters a team to win or get experience. If you enter a bad team that loses 16-0 against 8 players, then the DOC had no business entering the team. If the team gets beaten senseless at U13, it sounds like they have alot of work to do and at that age, get over it. It is NOT the team who beat you's fault.

        Not Valeo parent

Valeo United did not play the Vikings. They won all games, let in one goal, and won the U13 age bracket. No one from Valeo cried.

If it's true the V team played possession and had 7 boys in the field, there is nothing less a coach can do. You should leave soccer and go into arbitrating.

If the tourney max was 6 goals, why are other games in that bracket listed as 10-0, 10-1, and 9-0?

Makes one skeptical that they won 16-0 and played four players down.

liberal nonsense ?...since when does sportsmanship and kids athletics have anything to do with politics ???? as far as I know neither side has a monopoly on it .....in competitive high school, college, pros etc I fully agree that this happens. My issue is with the comment about "dumbing down" the game and playing how they are trained. Part of training a winning team is about losing and winning and showing good sportsmanship. Its pretty easy to tell your team "don't score"..and you can do that at any point.

How about you take it up with Green Lions for entering their team in a tournament they had no business being in and leave the winners alone.

There were adjustments. They kept pulling players and put the goalie as striker. Three goals dribbling through the Lion defense. Find something else to complain about.

Must be a different person entering scores today. Doesn't matter but NEFC should be consistent and follow its own rules.

Yes...the bs that people with the same mindset as yourself have permeated throughout youth sports is liberal nonsense. No keeping score, no celebration of a winner, etc. You always look to the losing side and think somehow they've been wronged. Call the indian chief Liz Warren and have her help you with your crusade.

NEFC parent here. With 7 on the field and still scoring, what is more embarrassing getting blown out or having a team place monkey in the middle while Valeo plays keep away?

Valeo and other teams have to get ready for the season and other tournaments. Green Lions DoC or the tournament director messed up.

That is *exactly* what I was thinking. How long can a team pass the ball around without humiliating the other team. At least scoring gives some semblance of playing a game.

FC Mass v Lions was a similar blow out. Must have just had the 6 GD on Sat.
