I don't know. The toll that 12 more years of flopping will take on their bodies may be more than they can bear.

Yes, you would know. That's how people end up attacking kids on TS

They were great. Minimal craziness from the parents. Almost silent sidelines. The kids really looked like they enjoyed it.

Maybe a new trend... lets hope they both keep it up!

wow..what a novel concept...no crazy parents screaming instructions at the players nor hopefully screaming at officials, and kids actually enjoying playing soccer. If only that happened more often.

Anyone doing the NEFC pre- pre- season tourny?

It is because of the way the games are set up. There is no real standings that matter. So kids play hard to win but there are no parents that get to say they have the Best U12 team.

The standings is really the route of all the evils. Parents put more meaning into the game that is necessary. They also put too much emphasis on the ref's calls.

In Natick there is no score or standings kept for teams U9 and down.

Not having a score or standings in the youngest ages has not prevented a small handful of parents from being ridiculous at the games where I live.
There will always be over-zealous parents at every age level.

We had an internal club scrimmage and one of the moms was cheering so loudly for her kid's "team" to win (against his teammates), the rest of us felt like we needed to set an example to cheer for both teams' efforts over her- jees.

Just curious -- at your town, does each team have a different color jersey? Are they the same color each week?

I only ask because another thing I noticed about Natick is that everyone has the same shirt. They are reversible, blue and white. If the game gets lopsided some players are swapped.

It is hard to make the game personal when your child is not really on a team.

                              3. WUP Red
                              4. everyone else...

                                No...
Valeo FC (more training time over the Summer)
                                WUP/NEFC Central
                                Seacoast/MPS Bulldogs

The question is whether all these teams will play 11v11. NEP does not currently offer 11v11 at U12 so the NEP clubs will be forced to play lower level U13.
