pay to play model excludes most talent - only the rich and daddy coached kids can advance whether nepotism or lack of access
look around - best teams come from the $$$ towns

Other thread makes good point about the german and dutch models. Clubs are induced to create the best players to sell them. That's where the $$$ should be for the clubs

I heard that approximately 50% of D1 soccer scholarships go to wealthy families. Anyone know if that is in the ballpark?

All the D1 scholarships go to the best possible players period! I do agree that soccer in mass is very expensive and most of the kids come from supportive families! Also the clubs will work with families in need if they want you on there team.

Comeback kids again

Just saw another tournament in which the "NPL" U12 team lost 9-5 to their own MPS Knights, and then they beat them in the finals 7-0. They barely won against their own Crusaders 6-5. Did they pull some Knights players on the NPL team or did they fly in another ringer for the last game?

Same deal in the Regional Futsal tournament.

I think most have moved on from this scandal ..... perhaps you should too. You "just saw another tournament" come on "adult"

Explain how it happened. Losing 9-5, then winning 7-0? All you GPS people sign waivers that kids may be moved frim your team to ensure GPS NPL victory?
