GPS Slimeball Machine manipulates VW Junior Master

My kids team thought they were playing in the Needham Tournament and had no idea what the VW bracket even was. Regardless...however the GPS team was assembled none of our parent group really cared...our kids had fun and played as hard as they could.

This thread is exactly what is wrong with youth soccer and the people involved in it.

GPS Pulled in players from other franchises, these players currently play in GPS Teams in different states, therefore they are developed by GPS. GPS did not bring in players from different clubs. They entered the team as GPS Elite and did not claim to be a massachusetts based team.

The best thing about this all is that i watched the Aztec/NU Semi Final, the final and also the Aztec/GPS Group game. Just to confirm my son plays at an older age group DAP. The GPS Had the same team on Saturday as it did on Sunday and the game against Aztec should have been by more. They had a lot of bigger boys but also some very strong smaller players.

Accusing people of cheating pretty much dominates this website and it's a shame. You have to have proof of this and clearly not one person on this thread has this. Whether the tournament was run badly or in the favor of GPS it doesn't really matter, They like all the other VW Masters teams entered a tournament to win it. The players had to be of birth year 2002 or younger. They were the best team at the VW Tournament and that is why they won it.

Every person on here has an agenda. An Aztec parent who know longer wants to go to GPS, a newton united parent who thinks they should have won the tournament. The sooner people remember what the entire thing is about.

I witnessed opposing teams coaches belittling other teams players - The aztec coach did this with a GPS Player, whatever happens this is not appropriate. Once people stop making it all about them and the enjoyment of kids then youth soccer in Mass will be a better place. With people consistently posting lies and rumors on here we have no luck.

My witty response is that GPS can develop one or two players per geographical region.

So you can confirm the roster on the winning team did not change at all after the first game started? And you can also confirm that none of the players were rostered on any other team playing in the tournament? If so, then I agree that there is no issue here.

Yes a person who has no kid on any of the teams can confirm the identity of each player on each team. That settles it.

No there were players who were not on the roster before the start of the tournament. I also just heard that there was movement from the NH GPS team to the GPS roster.

Here is how big clubs use TS. Someone is tasked to monitor TS and spin the threads whenever there is an issue. Ending with, let the sarcastic comments begin...

The matter at hand is GPS loses credibility and looks bad when they place overage team in a tournament and don't tell anyone. Isn't that cheating? They couldn't find enough age appropriate players?

I see they are automatically guilty. The burden of proof is on them. And if they had rosters with photos. Then you would want time elapsed videos run through facial recognition software that some switch didn't happen after the check-in.

A conspiracy like this is only solved by the NSA.

What league does the exact 'team' that played on Sunday play in?

I only came to this thread out of intrigue. I have a boy in the NEP u13 division where the Aztec u12 team in question plays. Any team that beat them 11-0 would be wiping the floor with every NEP u13 team from all divisions. So I'm very curious to know where this GPS 'team' plays and what their record is. Must be fantastic. And they must be ranked #1 in Mass, right? And if not, why?

All rhetorical questions. The 'team' doesn't, in fact exist as a 'team' as anyone going into this or any other tournament would expect. They were created out of GPS loopholes for the sake of GPS pride. I suspect GPS has a hand in running this tournament.

In any case, what a way to ruin the spirit of an event. Why would a team play in this tournament in the future if such 'frankenstein' teams can come in out of the blue and destroy all the other teams?

Its Aztec's U11 team that was in the tournament. They played in U12 just for the experience of 11v11 as that is what they will be playing next year.
