For those that say that ECNL B league is good, you are not drinking the right potion of kool aid.

The new NPL league will be way better than playing in Maple and NEP because now those leagues will be C, D & E teams.
Way better. waaaaaay better. Please all you arrogant fools leave my Maple club alone. We will be fine without you...and without any competition...and without any prestige....or teams left to play. But we are an A team dammit. Don't insult me by saying otherwise.

Oh well guess we will have to add ODP to the mix after all.

And herein lies the problem. It's always these supposedly "best" / "elite" teams that run off into the sunset into these "better" leagues. The problem is these so-called better leagues are also the leagues where the clubs are screwing you over financially! Between the club fees, hotel rooms, etc. Sorry, it isn't worth it. Oh and trust me... We have plenty of money, just not stupid enough to blow it on weekends away getting beat up on or killing teams (take your pick) against teams when I can do that at home and sleep in my own bed at night. Club soccer is a big business and those people running the leagues are in it strictly for the money, they couldn't care less about your little Mia or Landon.

How are the clubs screwing over the families in these leagues?!?

Fees are reasonable for the number of practice hours and field rental. For under $2500 we got over 100 hours of practice, about 30 games/scrimmages, including 4 showcases plus 2 indoor tournaments.

Where these league can get expensive is travel.

What I don't get is how that relates in any way to the greed of the clubs. Clubs aren't making any money on flights or meals. Hotels only when they are running the tournament.

If you want to say clubs are selling out by running C, D, E teams as glorified baby-sitting. Fine. Personally, I have no problem with them providing instruction and supervision for a fee for low end players, but at least I can see the point. But I don't see the logic behind saying these high end leagues are all about the money.

And let's be real. A big clubs top regional team (which would technically be their 3rd or 4th team) is still better than most town travel club's A teams. The same for many small club teams in the top 3-4 Maple Divisions. Sometimes it's just time for a top town talent to move and play for premier, even if it means they'll never be on a top state team.

Other than NEFC I would not travel 10 minutes to play one of those teams

Mindless comment. Do some research next time before posting.

Just like every other year. Match Fit jumped to ECNL soon as they were accepted. FSA in Ct bought Soccerplus Elite to be in ECNL. Any club with a chance to get in ECNL will do it so say what you want but that is the BEST girls soccer league in the country. This ne NPL league is not as good as Region 1 premier league.
