The NEFC sidelines are reportedly in a complete tizzy. The word floating around the parents is that JD is having personal discussions with several of the U14 NT hopefuls and telling them that NEFC cannot get them into a NT camp but he personally can. According to them his is saying playing for NEFC hurts their chances of making it to the national team but if they switch to his club, he will get them an invite to a NT camp. One has to wonder why playing for NEFC would hurt their chances? Could it be he is lobbying against their players? If that is the case it certainly speaks to the ruthlessness of the situation.

Don't you get it, that is how this whole club thing works. It is all based upon fear. This is how you recruit role players for top level teams. You take a few early bloomers whose petals are starting to fade and you throw them a sliver of hope. The fact is if a kid has NT potential they WOULD be invited and wouldn't have to rely on politics to worm a slot into one of the first round camps. JD is just pimping his reputation to keep his club afloat. At this point he has only one team (these 14's) that are anywhere close to being a top level team but they are heading in the same direction all of the other teams from all of the other clubs are - towards mediocrity. He knows that he needs to infuse more talent into this team which is why he is recruiting this age group so hard.

Just another example of how the Stars hype themselves. JD has no clout with the NT, in fact you could just as easily say that his obvious bias for his own players is actually doing the opposite. In the NT realm you can only promote so many duds to these U14 camps before they start discounting your opinion. The Stars have had a lot of one and done's over the past couple of years so his opinion might not carry as much weight as the Stars like to think.
