Somehow I doubt St Rose would crush Bryant, but you may be right about the coaching issue which was probably the point made in an earlier post outlining the success of Bryant's spring teams under new coaches.
Baseball coach came about a couple of years ago due to a personal issue with the previous coach (if you live in the Smithfield area you may have read about it). But Bryant had 3 players in 2013 get selected in MLB draft and all 3 made minor league rosters so that has to help with recruiting.
Softball coach was new this year so maybe previous coach was good recruiter but this new coach got them over the hump to NCAA. Basketball coach (and again, you see Bryant being savvy about picking up a guy like Al Skinner as an assistant coach with his recruiting network) was brought in to take the team through the expected less than a handful of wins seasons and both are able to land some decent enough recruits to at last make the program get some visibility.
I do think coaching makes a difference and both soccer coaches have been there long enough where you might see the AD to start expecting more given the success of other program (although the men made it to the NEC championship game). But again, look at the women's side before the jump -- great record in NE10 and even a top 10 ranking and multiple NCAA berths so there was probably a degree of sticking with a guy with a track record. I think you'll see that wear thin now that is it 6 years in and the starters/core should all be D1 level recruits. One of the problems I see (I try to take my kids to watch Bryant, Brown, and PC games) is the team gets new recruits in and then the coach seems to give up on them - there were only a handful of seniors on the team so I don't know if that reflects kids come in and then get bumped/frustrated after a couple of years).

and if you think Bryant went D1 with the soccer program in mind..that was an afterthought. D1 is about getting more regular exposure in the NY/NJ/PA market as well as getting to play AZ, IU, OSU in basketball (and the nice $$ for being the warm-up team). It's gravy when the bball team beats a BC or you get a gift like has happened with the LAX program (and if they had beaten MD and made it to the final four, you could not buy enough of the press that would have been about Pressler).
Like basketball for PC.
But too much success in other sports does put a spot light on the other sports..don't know how long CF and SP will remain if the records don't start showing north of .500..

It's unfair. Those fogies shouldn't be working, even though they were 10-4 last year - records should not matter. What even is their RPI this year?
