maybe, just maybe, some of the players chose not to play? Maybe some players didnt think the prestige of winning this meaningless tournament at this age was worth the risk of injury seeing college is right around the corner?

I would agree with your "maybes" if the top recruits weren't on this state cup roster. Unfortunately for you all the commited college players are playing this meaningless tournament. Find another excuse. MPS is seeking state cup since its inception. Go fish somewhere else and maybe and just maybe you should STFU.

So was it in first come and first serve basis or players had choice? BS. They picked what they consider the top players to roster for state cup. How can you not hurt or denigrate players that were not chosen?

Just because what MPS have chosen to do doesn't fit your experience doesn't mean it's wrong. It's very likely that the girls prefer playing with their friends close to home for most of their team experience then having to travel to play on an A team B team situation.

Low numbers? Both teams roster 18+ players. And they are aware that state cup is the toughest and most important competition they face.

Not according to GotSoccer. Plus you don't know how many are college freshman. Perhaps the roster is determined by who can come out and train in the spring.

Are the games close or the results?

Eagles played a great game and had stellar defense both teams had scoring opportunities they could not capitalize on...Eagles were missing a very skilled defender but remained strong defensively, shots hitting cross bars etc. Eagles goalie did a great job.

SS played a good game just could not capitalize. Very fast, played some long ball. Good players there too may have had a couple on the bench.

All in all great game, great players, both sides. Good job!
