OP here. One is going to Brandeis as shown on the earlier list. I've been checking on Thayrone but can't find anything. Is that PB school confirmed or is that just a rumor? I was guessing that too but couldn't find anything yet.

almost certain PB is playing at UML...he did bust his knee and requires surgery and im not sure what the recovery time is so he may need to redshirt his first season

OP here. The 2014 list is now nearly complete. There are easily a dozen or more D2/3 kids still out there, but the D1 list is largely done. So some analysis:

          D1 Players from MA

          2014 - 29

          2013 - 36

          2012 - 20

D1 Players going to teams who played in the 2013 NCAA tournament.

          2014 - 8

          2013 - 2

          2012 - 2

So 2014 is a pretty good year. It helps that Cent CT St made the NCAA's last year. In reality only a handful of MA players each year make it to a National power.

Do not see many players this year heading to D2 in particualr the NE10.which is always a strong D2 div. Any idea why ? Usually Merrimack, Franklin Pierce and SNHU are the best what about the likes of Assumption or Stonehill what is up with their programs. Lots of players heading to D3 good soccer and excellent academics. Why decline in D2.

D2 for some reason is the hardest of the three to get information on. In 2013 there were only 9 names, this year there are 4. The websites at this point have close to 1000 players committed in D1 and only a few dozen in D2. Clearly there are many more prospective D2 players out there. So my best source has been when posters provide the name or when clubs post their college commit list. Failing that I will scan the NE10 rosters in the fall.

I think D2s are still recruiting. They are very late taking players that are still hoping on making those final numbers for D1. My son is committed to a D1 program but is still getting calls from some D2 coaches who don't know he is committed. So they are out their fishing still.

Agreed. D2's often wait to see what is left of the D1 talent. This late the only D1's getting picked for D1's are depth players with little or no $$ left to give. So the D2's have to wait until the kid picks his path. Often some good talent at the D2 level. Paul Beatty and Thayrone Miranda are still on the board as far as I know. Not DAP players, but two of the top HS soccer players in MA last year. UML(Div1) or SNHU(Div2) could be in play.

Beatty is going to uml, just not a lot of talk because he is injured.

Thanks All for the feedback on the D2 question. Follow up on the D3 aspect, lot of good players from clubs going D3 route to some good schools academically and soccer wise. D3 does not give any athletic aid and I am sure in the D2 that soccer gets some but not maybe as much as other sports in D2. That being said, is it likely that many or some are choosing the D3 schools for academics and majors along with more financial aid in the form of grant and merit over the D2's even though they have the ability to play at the D2 level.

In my experience, D2 and D3 represent a fairly different genre of kid, especially in the Northeast.

Can you elaborate on the differences?

The poster probably meant D2 vs good to very good academic D3. These are generalizations of course, but ISL-type and high tax bracket public school kids, along with kids who take AP course in more regular publics, will tend to be interested in D3. Kids who are very good athletes/players (but can't make D1) and who may be decent to average to below average students lean towards D2 where they also may be lured with some athletic money.
