Dover Dreamers are a team in New York East... made up of mostly Right to Dream boys here on Scholarship to New England Prep Schools. Four Dreamers are playing or going to Mass Schools (3 B.C.) (1 Williams) The team was undefeated in u19 for 2 years in all Tournaments and Competition (MAPS N.E. MAPS N.J. Annandale) including Academy's. Ranked #1 New York and #8 Nationally last season. Posted because I noticed Prep School Kids not from Mass on the list. Sorry for the mix-up

OP here. I personally make the list from players that list their home as MA and have grown up here. Lately another person has been adding MA ISL players from other states. I have left some of them on, although there have been some complaints about this when different years are compared. I would prefer not to include CT or NY players for this thread. They sound like great players.

Clearly there is a difference between lists that are MA "born and bred" and lists that include internationals and kids from all over the country. That doesn't matter so much to me, as it is pretty easy to figure out who is who. The bigger story may be how competitive college slots are, and even or maybe especially for top-end D3s. There is endless debate about how good or how bad soccer is in our area. That debate doesn't impact at all how attractive the New England area colleges are for folks across the country and even internationally, and obviously one of the major bridges facilitating this interest is the New England prep school scene.

Heard Lawrence Academy could have some or getting some. They where the number one seed on NE class B and 3 nationally this year.

Lawrence Academy does not have any boys from the Right to Dream Academy and they are not slated at this time to receive any.

Curious how these players fare in college on the academic front. Don't know these particular boys, but I do know some international recruited kids who certainly struggle (understandably) in prep school. BC has academic support in place for athletes, but IDK about the NESCACS.

Absolutely true about the struggle aspect... tough moving to a new language and testing. Especially with some of there Prep School placements. BC does well supporting them as do allot of D1 programs... NESCACS do not have the same support. Right to Dream is different ...they are required to attend 4 years of Academy Schooling.

I know of a program in Africa, where the players attend yrs of schooling in advance to prepare for coming to America (prep school and then college), only allow the players to play D3. Their intent is to protect the recruits and not allow them to be "used" by the intensity of D1 soccer, but to allow them a more balanced college experience. Ironic then that there is less academic support in place at these elite D3 colleges. Despite the preparation, many are not ready to be thrust into the environment and rigorous curriculum.

I have heard of this as well....RTD stresses the balance too and does not segregate between D1 and D3... that is based solely on there soccer ability and academic level.
RTD also sends graduates direct to the European clubs ... Man City just signed a graduate who will start there in the fall.

Any new updates? I feel like the list is alittle short at this point.

OP here. And the winner is.... Harvard. Must be a good student. The 2015 list is growing nicely.

If true then that's one of the funniest comments ever on TS. Clearly Harvard didn't run any background checks

Right on TDS. The new coach has a mandate - last to first in the Ivy. You know how that works.

Harvard must know the player's off-field history, and decided his background was one they want to help him recover from, rather than condemn him for it. Some rejected applicants will be very offended that he will be accepted over them, but no doubt Harvard gets that all the time, so maybe they're used to ignoring it. Could be a case of low-profile soccer being able to recruit someone with a profile that football or basketball could not.
