Okay, then just UConn, no honors program, and a shot a national title.

If my kid could play for "any D1 school in the country" he would not be at Northeastern. That's the point.

This has got to be one of the least useful threads. It does allow for bragging but if these kids wanted everyone to know where they were going they would have told folks. This is anbout parents! To compile a list like this suggests too much time on ones hands.

I beg to differ. This is one of the threads that shows folks where youth soccer can lead. Players like the thread so they can find out where their fellow players are heading after high school. Too much time on one's hands? It takes only a few seconds to update a list like this.

A lot of these kids could have gotten into better schools if they didn't spend so much time on soccer.

And your kid could have gotten into a better school if he had played a sport instead of partying all weekend. These are all good choices...the key word being choices. Most of which are made based on academics first, soccer second. Soccer opens doors, helps somewhat but is just a part of a complete package. Everyone comes with a different package, sports, arts, music. Not everyone is a great student. For some, the sports is the carrot all these years, for others it helps them focus and is another set of eyes on their academic and private lives. For those good students, soccer is the gravy that completes the package. We all hear and repeat the mantra "it takes a village to raise a child". Why can't these soccer teams/coaches be part of that village. I know that my son's coach(es) discuss grades and academics all the time. Contrary to what you might believe, the coaches care about these kids. I think it is hard to spend 3 years 5 days a week 10 months a year with them and not be vested in them.
