Why the asterisk beside UMass? Is it Amherst or Lowell?

The * is to note new additions, which is important as the list approaches 100. The UMass designation is for the Amherst campus. I use UML for the other.

OP here. I suspect most of the graduating DAP players are already pretty certain where they are going for D1 and below. There might be a few depth players and some D2's left to scrape up. As for the Juniors, this is prime fishing time, but we won't hear much about that until next summer.

I think most are already committed. Many more that are not on this list.

OP here. Agreed. I have half a dozen ways to get the info, but have to wait for it to get there. Most seniors are done by now.

Looks like UMass is shopping in the local market.

Do these players going to Stanford, Duke, G'town, Northeastern, etc project to be impact players, starters, starters in a couple of years, fighting for time all 4 years, etc?

OP here. Generally the D1 picked earlier are the impact players. While these are the earliest MA players, they are not likely the earliest for these teams. You could look at that if you wished. Next, even if they are impact players, at schools such as these it means you will be 1 or 2 on the depth chart at that position entering camp/preseason. Often you will discover 1-2 players who are very good competing with you for that same spot. You may get the first looks, but rest assured, they'll be looking at the others too. You'd best be ready. Key is that as things develop, sometimes you'll end up playing at a position you didn't expect to play, but at a hole the team needs filled. Versatility is important if you want to maximize playing time/visibility. For the 2010 class, WD of Duke came in at D, but played a lot at F for Duke. DM was a M, but played D at BU some as a Junior, and F some at Louisville as a Senior.

MA NSCAA All American list out. Three kids on the list, one from Rivers, another from Cushing Academy, and the last from Somerville HS. Typically some of the All Americans from the past years came from DAP players who were HS stars that made this early D1 selection list. Not this year for the first time. So another problem with DAP not allowing HS play may be that they are excluded from HS All America consideration. Also I cannot find any college affiliation with any of the three All American kids. One said recently he is still not committed anywhere yet. Very late for that.

Guess that says the HS All American list is becoming a list of kids who don't make it onto college teams.

Cushing kid going to BU I believe. Was a national team kid in Zimbabwe. Big time talent. Rivers player will go division 1 and wouldn't be surprised if it is an Ivy. Many of those commitments come later as those schools want more grades and test scores before kids commit.

I've seen of the the three play. They are very good. If the Cushing kid goes to BU, he'll play with another Zimbabwe star. Yet if kids already going to Duke, Georgetown, and Stanford aren't even considered in the HS All America selection, it will change how the award is viewed. I wonder what Gatorade and Parade will do. Gatorade tends to like ISL kids.
