So you measure developing at U11, by winning?

How about technical speed with the ball, ability to dribble and turn out of pressure, frequency of completed passes in a game, scoring chances created, tackles won, ability to not get ahead if one's self when winning and to not get down on one's self when losing, enjoyment and years spent playing? BTW: developed is measured over time. Take the same kids and let me know the answers to the above questions in two years, three, six.

Celebrate their wins after U13/14 and older. At U12/13 and younger winning DOES NOT MATTER.

I agree that winning doesn't matter at this stage. Unfortunately, all of the things you mention are key factors in whether or not a team wins at this age. So although not a primary concern, win loss records are indicative of a teams overall abilities somewhat, or at least to some significant degree, although it is not 100% telling. That's the rub.

A four letter word, indeed. Are you aware that the rest of your U11 teams stink? Why would anyone want to go there and get stuck on one of these teams? That does not say much for the coaching staff.

Actually, when we played an NEFC team (in Maple Green), they played very well. They did not attempt the kick and run style of many of the other teams in the division. Give these boys time and they will develop as they seem to be on the right track.

Jamboree United?

Don't let the hokey name fool you. Jamboree United = NEFC all-star team to win futsal session 2 after losing session 1 last season (coach's words).

Newton United 9 - 3 NEFC MN Valencia (only 6 goal diff allowed)

I don't know what NEFC is doing with the Jamboree this season, but futsal is a highly technical game that requires quickness and precision. I predict that Valeo will do very well against Jamboree United in futsal. Keep us posted!

Players had NEFC shirts on so the NEFC parents were asked what was up with the Jamboree name. They told the reason--no big deal.

Because they played in a tournament that gave them more points. No big deal. The kids are 10 years old. I doubt they want to spend every weekend holiday chasing gotsoccer points. Let them be kids for gods sake or else they won't want to play when they are older.

Yes, but NEFC is HUGE. Statistically, NEFC should have 2 or 3 good U11 teams. Valeo has one out of 3, WUP has one out of 2, NU has one out of one.

Yes but as you pointed our several times, if one or two NU players are out then NU is just a decent team. Which is course what they will be 11 v 11 without the depth and commitment to development of stronger clubs. Enjoy your ulittle team while it lasts.
